QUESTION:
I recently came across some info that basically says if you can get your
lymphatic system moving better it will help to loose weight.
I know a bit about the lymphatic system from working with essential oils
and massage ...but I never heard it could help with weight loss...Lena
how about you?

ANSWER:
How to make this easy to understand?? Not always easy to explain in
simple language...The lymphatic system works in two ways toward weight
gain or weight loss and is varied and large... Consisting of the bone
marrow, spleen, thymus gland, lymph nodes, tonsils, appendix, and a few
other bodily organs is the flushing system working along with the
digestive tract.
The lymph is probably the easiest to start with as it is the beginning
of the whole system and empties into progressively larger lymphatic
vessels/organs, which ultimately converge into - as creeks converge into
a river and the river into the ocean/lake - the Thoracic Duct and drain
their contents into the right and left subclavian veins in the thorax.
What it amounts to is that the lymphatic system serves as a slow
flowing, low pressure drainage system that collects a small portion of
the interstitial fluid from throughout the body and returns it to
the bloodstream. The Thoracic Duct arises anterior to the second
lumbar vertebra as an enlarged sac, beginning as the cisterna chyli.
This sac like the lymphatic mass collects lymph fluid from lower limbs
(legs and feet) of the body as well as the digestive system. Hence
circulating the fluids of the body! When improperly functioning (slow
down) results in water weight gain that will inevitably result in fat
gain OR if working properly will result in weight loss by washing out
toxins and cleaning fat in the body...
The lymphatic system depends on muscular movement, breathing, exercise
and simple gravity to move lymph fluid throughout the body. However, the
Thoracic Duct (near the stomach) does contain smooth muscle (the same
muscle type that exists in the lower digestive system and the arterial
system) in order to aid lymph flow. Thus, frequent movement (EXERCISE)
is critical for humans to properly move lymph and prevent lymph fluid
build-up (so-called water weight) in the body.
All this makes it difficult to lose weight if all lymphatic parts are
not functioning properly, and on the same note will make it easier to
lose weight when functioning well!
The crux keeping the lymphatic system working well is a proper mineral

HEART TO HEART
In the 1960s, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration team
working on the Apollo moon mission took some astronauts to Arizona,
where the terrain of the Navajo Reservation looks very much like the
lunar surface. With all the trucks and large vehicles were two figures
that were dressed in full lunar spacesuits.
NASA official Charles Phillip Whitedog tells that a Navajo sheep
rancher and his son were watching the strange creatures walking about.
The father did not speak English and his son asked for him what the
strange creatures were. It was explained to that they were astronauts
training to go to the moon. The man became excited and asked if he could
send a message to the moon with the crew.
NASA personnel grabbed a tape recorder and the old Navajo spoke into it.
When asked to translate, his son refused. The NASA people played the
recording for other natives on the reservation, each of whom smiled or
chuckled and likewise refused to translate. Finally, they paid someone
to translate the rancher's message:
"Watch out for these guys, they come to take your land."
World history is replete with examples of people "watching out" for one
another. But I believe today's world is learning the higher value of
keeping faith. One writer accurately says, "On the day when we can fully
trust each other, there will be peace on earth."
Keeping faith is essential between nations and within nations. It
keeps the peace. Keeping faith is essential between companies and their
customers. It creates good will. And keeping faith is
essential between friends and within families. It builds bonds of love
that no amount of adversity can break. Invincible bonds are forged upon
the anvil of trust.

Nutrient Rich Little Known Grain:
One of the relatively unknown grains, tops in nutrients is Quinoa.
Pronounced keen-wah, this grain is grown in the Andes Mountains in
South America where it was once a staple food for the Incas.
Quinoa has a delicious light, nutty flavor. When it cooks, the grain
opens up to make tiny spirals. Quinoa contains all eight amino acids and
therefore has better protein value than most grains. A nutrient-dense
grain; perfect for those who have elevated needs, such as pregnant or
nursing mothers.
Vegetarians and people with food allergies will find quinoa a welcome
choice; it's gluten-free and provides a remarkable array of nutrients.
It's a complete protein comparable to milk, according to the World
Health Organization. For anybody who has an interest in health - and for
the many people who have allergies to common grains - it's a delicious
alternative."
Quinoa's greatest hurdle is that it's still relatively unknown to many
cooks, even those with an interest in whole foods and natural
approaches. For the many people who have limited food choices now you
can use quinoa.
A simple recipe for preparing quinoa;
1 cup quinoa
Pinch of sea salt
1 3/4 cups water
Rinse quinoa well with warm water and drain. Quinoa has a natural
coating called saponin that repels insects and birds that creates a
bitter taste. Rinsing with warm water removes the saponin.
Place rinsed quinoa, salt, and water in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce
heat to low, cover, and let simmer 15-20 minutes, until all the water is
absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
Makes 2 1/2-3 cups
For breakfast add a bit of honey and butter for a great
stick-to-the-stomach breakfast grain!
