QUESTION #1:
I got your name from a friend of our family ( Charles XXXXX). I have a
weak sphiter muscle and it lets the acid come into my esophagus and
causes terrible gastritis, esophagitis, and terrible spasms in my
esophagus it scares me when that happens because I think I'm having a
heart attack, I've been to the ER several times thinking I was having
just that. Do you have any recommendations that would help me, I'm
willing at this point to try any thing different. I am a 49 year old
female 125 lbs. good health except for my GERD. non smoker, I take
aciphex, and anything over the counter that will help with the burning
and and hurting....
Thank You!
Marva
ANSWER:
I am assuming you have been examined for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and
no growth's were found other than the relaxed sphincter? ZES is a
condition of the adrenal glands that malfunction with acid reflux as a
prime symptom?
First rule is to relax now that you know what it is and when the chest
pains occur know that you either ate something too spicy, or drank
something that creates the acid reflux, or ate too much food, or
reclined too soon after eating or you are stressed? Sometimes a
combination of more than one of these can be overwhelming to your
stomach and creates more pain than usual?
The danger comes later as the acid reflux grows scar tissue and it sears
the nerves in the area of your esophagus and stomach... The scar tissue
also makes it hard for the sphincter muscle to close as it needs to
do...
Aciphex has an insertion that reads: " short-term use (up to 4
weeks) in healing of an ulcer in the duodenum." Experience tells
me your doctor did not inform you of the dangers in continuing Aciphex
longer than a month? Is an antacid and antacids have too many side
effects for me to feel safe saying they are okay! Antacids not only
stop acid production but it kills the natural
flora in your system as well as depletes your body of the
hydrochloric acid and necessary minerals and nutrients needed for
digestion balance. Those possible problems created by antacids is caused
from a lack of that very hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which is what
Aciphex and other antacid type medications stop the body from making...
That acid is required in order to digest foods properly, setting a body
up for more problems later... Aciphex is also known to react with other
medications including many over-the-counter medications making the
situation more serious over time? When the
intestinal flora is imbalanced all kinds of problems can and usually
do occur... It's imperative that you replace the natural flora with
probiotics, which will also help stop a lot of acid reflux... You will
need to take daily probiotics for weeks to repair what the Aciphex and
OTC drugs have already destroyed...
Prevention is the best rule for your type of problem?
1) Prevent stressful situations. It appears your acid reflux
sends you into more stress so you have stress on top of stress making
for the visits to the ER? For those occasional stressful periods or if
you are stressed daily you might want to try our herbal stress reduction
formula
Tolerance, 1 capsule three times a day?
2) Eating small meals as this could be a lifelong problem
and more scar tissue grows each time you have an attack of acid reflux
and smaller meals makes those attacks less likely to happen...
3) For at least a couple of hours after eating, never lay down, as the
reflux will most probably occur... If you balance your body's minerals
and trace minerals I think you will notice a large difference in all
areas of your body as well as help minimize damage from stress and the
reflux...
4) Do not drink alcohol or carbonated sodas: These both compound
the relaxed sphincter muscle making more reflux happen.
I hope this helps you and gives you some ideas as to living with your
problem.

QUESTION #2:
What juices would be best to deal with or help prevent an anuersyn?
Mary & Dan
ANSWER:
Thank you for the question.
I want to make sure you are totally aware of what an aneurysm is before
answering your question... An aneurysm is a weakened vein or artery that
has thinned and in danger of rupturing (breaking) causing a stroke
and/or death... Habits in life that deplete or fail to give the body
sufficient nutrients set the body up to make an aneurysm possible,
rarely some people inherit very thin veins or arteries and will require
work to strengthen them.
Those things that weaken veins/arteries are; smoking, drinking excess
alcohol, processed foods, lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet,
most over-the-counter medications and/or certain prescription
medications.
Strengthening veins and arteries makes it less likely that intracerebral
(aneurysm gone bad within-brain) hemorrhage will occur! Also known as a
stroke! The nutrients we put into our bodies will help to do that just
as failure to put the proper balance into our bodies will create the
problem.
The most common form of stroke is cerebral thrombosis (blood clot), but
another, rarer, form is subarachnoid hemorrhage - bleeding from a
congenitally (born with) abnormal artery - outside the brain tissue and
may even occur in the abdomen.
Three important subgroups of hypertensive persons are at greater risk of
intracerebral hemorrhage - bleeding or blockage of the brain; Diabetics,
high blood pressure and mild mental decline. Mental decline occurs with
the failure to get sufficient nutrients to keep the body healthy. High
blood pressure can be from lack of proper nutrients or a bodily organ
decline. Diabetic's lymphatic system is in failure, hence organ failure?
As for juices that will prevent that from occurring? There are none that
will actually prevent them but all whole fresh juice has some nutrients
that contribute to health but will not actually prevent an aneurysm from
occurring... Those juices that are high in mineral content are the
best... I am happy to say with confidence that herbs and minerals can do
a much better job of strengthening and building strong veins and
arteries... Taking stroke prevention measures is the same as aneurysm
prevention and Dr. Garland has worked up just such a stroke prevention
protocol...
1.
Skeletal Support 3-3X a day for two weeks then 2-3X a day thereafter
2.
Structural Lubrication 3-3X times a day for two weeks then 2-3X a
day thereafter
3.
Life Transfusing Liquid Minerals Complex. 1/2 teasp (20drops) in
juice, morning, noon and 3 - 4PM, for one month then stop the afternoon
dose..
I'm sorry I can't give you a magic bullet with juices, but all those on
the market that are claiming to prevent strokes, etc. really cannot...
Healthy yes, but claims of miraculous cures, no... Juices are good to
provide nutrients along with your fruits or vegetables but in excess can
also create obesity and an overload to the adrenal glands when continued
for long periods of time? A day or two of fasting and drinking fresh
fruit or vegetable juice is good for cleaning and detoxing but not
actually aneurysm prevention by itself.
I hope this helps in some way,
Lena

NAMASTE
Has this ever happened to you?
The day after we moved to a small town in Colorado my wife Bev did
grocery shopping. We moved few food items with us so she filled four
grocery carts full. She asked if she could pay with an out of state
check. "We just moved here," she explained, "and don't have local
checks yet."
They said, "Yes, no problem." But when she began looking for her
checkbook, she discovered that she had left it at home.
All of the groceries had been checked and sacked. "I'm so sorry," she
said, "I thought I had it with me. If I could just leave the groceries
here for a few minutes, I'll run home and get the checkbook."
"Don't worry about it," the cashier told her. "Take the groceries home.
The next time you're in the store you can pay for them."
We had just moved from a large city and she couldn't believe what she
was hearing! This clerk had never seen her before. But she treated her
as if she were a VIP. She was somebody!
Don't you love it when you are treated like you are somebody? Because
the truth is, we are all somebody. We are all important. And maybe most
businesses cannot (and should not) let everybody pay with credit, but
even strangers can be treated with honor and respect.
"Namaste" is a polite Indian gesture of greeting or farewell. From
Hindi, the word literally means "bowing to you." Namaste has also been
used to mean "I honor the sacred that is within you." What a remarkable
thing it would be to actually honor the sacred that is within each
person we meet! Even strangers. Nobody would go unnoticed and everybody
would count.
Here is an exercise that may dramatically change your life: for one
month treat everybody you meet as if he or she is the most important
person in the world. The clerk in the grocery store, your spouse and
children, a teenager from the church, strangers -- honor that which is
sacred in all of them.
Give your undivided attention. By your words and actions, communicate to
them all how important they are to you. Show them great respect and
kindness. You may be amazed at what happens to your relationships!
You may not single-handedly solve the problem of world peace -- but in
one small way at least, you will make a great difference.
Namaste.

FOOD OF THE WEEK

Strange shape, strange names but great taste!
As I rolled the huge pear/ball/grapefruit shaped thing in my hand
debating whether I should try it or not? I decided it would be worth the
risk as it had a thick skin making it less likely to be full of
pesticide chemicals. The name was strange and one I didn't recognize. On
investigation I found out that it carries several names; pomelo =
pummelo = Chinese grapefruit = shaddock! Pronunciation: PUHM-uh-low
- The French name for this fruit is chadec. The current Malayan
names are limau abong, limau betawi, limau bali, limau besar, limau
bol, limau jambua, Bali lemon, and pomelo.
I'll call it a Pummelo as that is what the name on the box said...
Pummelo is the largest of the citrus fruits with a shape that can be
fairly round or slightly pointed at one end -the fruit ranges from
nearly round to oblate or pear-shaped. They range from cantaloupe-size
to as large as a 25-pound watermelon and have very thick, soft rind. The
one I bought was sort of pear shaped and about 10 inches across... It is
known in the western world mainly as the principal ancestor of the
grapefruit The pummelo is popular in the Asia and is rather new to
California but rarely seen in the Eastern United States.
It's sweeter than a grapefruit. The skin is greenish yellow and
slightly bumpy with the feel of citrus skin; flesh color ranges from
pink to rose.
The pulp is milder and sweeter than its closest cousin, the grapefruit.
Pummelos are available mid-January through mid-February from California.
Can be used in the same manner as any other citrus fruit.
Said to be native to southeastern Asia and all of Malaysia; It is said
to grow wild on river banks in the Fiji and Friendly Islands. It is said
to have been introduced into China around 100 B.C. It is much cultivated
in southern China - Kwang-tung, Kwangsi and Fukien Provinces - and
especially in southern Thailand on the banks to the Tha Chine River;
also in Taiwan and southernmost Japan, southern India, Malaya,
Indonesia, New Guinea and Tahiti.
The pomelo is also called shaddock after an English sea captain,
Captain Shaddock, who introduced the seed to the West Indies in the 17th
Century from the Malay Archipelago. The seeds produced fruit somewhat
smaller than the current grapefruit, more like an orange. The size of
the fruit and the fact that it grew in bunches or clusters like grapes
prompted a 19th century naturalist to liken the new fruit to grapes,
with which it has no botanical relationship whatsoever.
Some say the grapefruit is a cross between an orange and the pummelo
(or shaddock), while others believe that grapefruit is a natural mutant
(sometimes referred to as a small shaddock) derived from the seeds
Captain Shaddock brought to the West Indies.
Pummelo skin is also used medicinally in some cultures. For instance,
in Southeast Asia raw pummelo skin pieces are given to patients to eat
who are having problems with excessive coughing and who have a history
of epileptic seizures.
As for the nutrients in a Pummelo? Guess it's a mystery as I couldn't
find anything written on the nutrients in one. I am assuming since it's
citrus it has lot of phytonutrients but exactly which ones is a guess...
Since it is used as a medicine in Asia I suspect they are all good!
I ate mine raw and was very good and tasty, just slightly sweeter than
a grapefruit with a very similar taste. I shall be eating more, even if
I don't know exactly what nutrients are in one.
The Experiment in food was well worth it!
