August 2010 - Researchers at the University of Oxford discovered that more than 200 human genes show significant changes in response to vitamin D, including those associated with auto-immune disorders, such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and Crohn's disease, and with certain cancers and type I diabetes. The study, published online in Genome Research, used DNA sequencing technology to map vitamin D binding sites, and found more than 2,700 of them-highly concentrated around and near those 200 genes.

Other Scientific Studies have found a common link in people with arthritis, obesity, hypertension, heart disease, depression, diabetes, organ transplant failures, frequent colds or flu and fibromyalgia. Are you one of those?  Are you getting sufficient Vitamin D?
If you work inside under fluorescent lighting that answer would be no! If you get less than 30 minutes of direct sunshine to most of your body's skin without sun screen on it that answer would be no!

Testing by numerous doctors and researchers have found that more than 200 million Americans lack this essential nutrient therefore linking them together as potentially ill and/or dying people.

Study after study on this common vitamin D link have been released over the last few years. Yet I do not have people telling me that their doctor warned them about this missing link! Has your doctor said anything to you about supplementing Vitamin D, or to stop using sun screens or that you need to be getting your sun quota for the day? Didn't think so!

Increasing levels of vitamin D - D3 is the best vitamin D - can treat, prevent, and even reverse a remarkable number of common daily ailments, from high blood pressure to back pain. It can lessen the symptoms of chronic conditions such as diabetes and arthritis, and actually prevent infectious diseases, including H1N1 and cancer. If infertility is a problem for you it could be as simple as insufficient Vitamin D!

In the late 1800’s and up to the 1920’s people who were put in hospitals found that part of their healing treatment consisted of putting them out in the sunlight for several hours a day. Of course we did not have sunscreens or nutrient depleted soils creating nutrient depleted foods or fast, prepackaged processed chemical additive foods of today, which complicates the lack even further!  Up to the last few decades infants were placed out in the sun for at least an hour a day as a part of growing strong. Both habits have been discontinued for the most part.

All the skin cancer scares put out over the last 25 years telling everyone to use sun screen daily to prevent them – never mind that most of those skin cancers are in areas of the body never touched by the sun - have created a nutrient deficient society that is becoming more and more ill with time. Sun Screen keeps the suns rays from absorbing sun, which when exposed to sun gives the body the ability to make Vitamin D, therefore making for a huge deficiency that is linking many illnesses and diseases together.

Vitamin D is a key to gene and cell health!

One recent study found that vitamin D helps to safely remove mercury from your body by radically increasing the amount of intracellular glutathione.

On Sunday March 7, 2010 research scientists released the following statement; "Vitamin D is vital in activating human defenses and low levels suffered by around half the world's population, may mean their immune systems' killer T cells are poor at fighting infection." The researchers found that immune systems' killer cells, known as "T cells", rely on Vitamin D to become active and remain dormant and unaware of the possibility of threat from an infection or pathogen if vitamin D is lacking in the blood.

They go on to write; "This is important not only in fighting disease but also in dealing with reactions of the body and the rejection of transplanted organs. Active T cells multiply at an explosive rate and as well as fighting infection, can also mistakenly attack the body itself. After an organ transplant, for example, T cells can attack the new organ as a "foreign invader, and in autoimmune disease, hypersensitive T cells mistake parts of the body's own cells as threats, prompting the body to attack itself.”  This sets up the rejection of the transplant and the reason anti-rejection drugs are prescribed after a transplant, which have devastating effects on the liver and kidneys!

One thing is clear. If you maintain optimal vitamin D levels, your cells will function optimally, which in turn will help prevent all sorts of health ailments and chronic diseases when paired with a balance of minerals. What is clear in all these different studies is; if your gene’s are healthy you are less likely to end up with so-called predisposed illnesses carried by your family’s gene pool!

It is a known fact that a weak immune system is responsible for creating the likelihood making it possible for you to become ill. Scientist finding are; "Without sufficient D-3, the T-Cells (front line of immune function) cannot be activated into action".

Reaping the health benefits of vitamin D is dose dependent, meaning you need to make sure your levels are within the necessary therapeutic range.

And this range is far higher - thousands of IU's higher - of course we have not been taught that Vitamin D was actually that important to our health so the RDA's (recommended daily allowance) aren't really something that was even acknowledged prior to these studies and has yet to be released to the public!

In November 2010 the government finally released their RDA's for vitamin D. So inadequate as usual. 50 years and below 200 IU's, 50 to 70 200 IU RDA's and over 70 500 IU RDAs. Now that will not even come close to helping those 200 cells!

 Suggested levels for those without a known health issue;

Infant to 5 years - 35 IU's daily; this is necessary as mothers deficient in vitamin D during pregnancy passed on the deficiency to the baby. Thirty minutes in the direct sunlight in the diaper will make that amount.
5 years to 10 years - 2500 IU's daily - At least 30 minutes dressed in shorts and skimpy top without sun screen will allow the body to make that amount!
18 years to 30 years - 5000 IU's daily
Over 30 years - 7500 IU's daily

For anyone with a chronic illness 10,000 up to 50,000 IU's for the duration of the illness is recommended.

This is far above what has been recommended prior to all the studies on Vitamin D deficiencies being known!

Most Vitamin D is made by the body as a natural by-product of the skin's exposure to sunlight. It can also be found – in small amounts in non-organic - fish liver oil, eggs and fatty fish such as salmon, herring and mackerel. The small amounts in those foods are no where near the amount required for total health therefore supplementing is necessary to get the health building dose of vitamin D.

When you link together a balanced Minerals supplement and ULTRA Vitamin D-3 supplements you will definitely start to feel better and find that you have more stamina, energy and positive outlook on life! I know that is the experience of myself and thousands who are doing just that since the new research came out to the few healthcare personnel!
