Brenda writes: I know you are busy but I need help FAST I have these small sores that started as blisters on the back my shoulder, they look almost like chicken pox that I had as a kid. Well the sore and blisters are sort of almost below the shoulder in the back. The pain is unbearable and I'm ready to give up wearing clothes, which means I have to leave my job, because the pain is getting to me. I also have pain running down the same arm and my side sort of under my arm that feels like nerves are exposed but no sores or blisters. My coworker tells me it looks like what she had diagnosed as Shingles and I should go to the doctor but I don't want to waste my time as I know they can't really help with shingles except to give me pain medication and muscle relaxers as they did her. Is there something else I can do to speed up healing and do you think it could be shingles?

My answers to readers question come from 20+ years as a Medical Office Nurse along with my ongoing education in nutritional and alternative treatment modes along with my many years of friendship with Dr. Wayne Garland, a very knowledgeable naturopath and herbologist, who many years ago, beat his cancer death sentence given by the traditional medical world, has helped me along this path and hopefully help to give hope to those who need it... I also receive a lot of study reports and try to ascertain if they are good or bad and report them to you, which has increased my knowledge and I pass them on to you to use or not...

I am not a doctor or dentist and you should not think of me as one!!
My years observing life and health of the many people/patients around me and the contradictions of the traditional medical world's idea of treating - prescription domino effect - while watching those same schooled methods that aren't relieving illness but creating far more than they help. Those same medical professionals aren't telling people how to get healthy or how to prevent illness, which led me to look for something to change that premise for myself and those around me. In looking outside the Westernized medical profession I found and continue to find alternatives that really work to create health and longevity -when adhered to - beyond anything the traditional medical world can do...

QUESTION:

Lena... I know you are busy but I need help FAST! I have these small sores that started as blisters on the back my shoulder, they look almost like chicken pox that I had as a kid. Is there something else I can do to speed up healing and do you think it could be shingles?

Will watch for your email..
Bren

ANSWER:

I emailed Brenda right back and here is what I told her...

Will answer your last question first... Yes, it sounds exactly like shingles. You are right in that they look like Chicken Pox as it is the virus from Chicken Pox, so I was taught...

Another name for shingles is herpes-zoster (VZU) and yes, it's very painful another type of herpes that stays in the body waiting for the immune system to be compromised so it can raise it's ugly head.
The virus particles leave the blood and settle into clusters of nerve cells (neurons ) called sensory ganglia, where they remain for many years in an inactive (latent) form. The sensory ganglia, which are adjacent to the spinal cord and brain, relay information to the brain about what the body is sensing - heat, cold, touch, pain.

I've seen people with only one or two blisters unable to have anything touch the area from the nerve pain being so bad. I was taught that you must have had Chicken Pox several years prior to getting shingles to even be able to have Shingles as they are both herpes-zoster viruses.

Now, I don't know if their premise is true or not as it has been around since 1920, I haven't researched it, but the people I know who have had shingles have had chickenpox in their history, usually as a child, except for one person, and that may have been simply because it was such a mild case of Chicken Pox it wasn't thought of as chicken pox?

My husband had a severe case of shingles, last year, but what I'm going to tell you to do he did and he had it gone and cleared up in just a few days. He didn't bother to even ask me to look at his side until he was about a week into them and finally he asked me to look at them to see what it was but by that time he had two patches about 6" diameter each on both his side and shoulder that was really inflamed. He had covered the breakout areas with a bandage thinking it needed covering so it wouldn't spread. Do Not Cover Shingles Spots with bandages, it speeds up a pain and breakout as the nerve cannot handle it...

Now to speeding up healing and pain relief. Those who have done the following have found relief in as few as 2 days and some have taken 4 or 5 days, so it will depend on your body's ability to absorb and heal as to how fast yours will...

  • First: You will need Ionic Silver Water. This is the very best antiviral, antifungal, antibiotic you can have in your medicine cabinet. Since you have ordered it in the past I'm assuming you still have some. Starting now spray the sore/blister area with the silver water 3 to 5 times a day but that alone will not solve the problem only help with the pain. You will need to take 2 Tablespoons of silver water 3 times a day, some require it 4 times a day.
  • Second: You have Life Transfusion Ionic Liquid Minerals so I'm assuming you are taking them daily but if not make sure you are as that is key. By not having your minerals balanced its easy for your immune system to go out of whack... You also must be taking a heavy duty probiotic as your shingles is proof that your intestinal flora is very weak and needs strengthening. make sure you are eating lots of fruits and vegetables and stay away from meat and dairy foods for a few weeks as they will exacerbate the problem. Too many chemicals that kills your intestinal and stomach flora making it easier to have Shingles how it's nasty head... It is even better if you can do the 7-day cleansing diet to begin the removal of the virus in your system.

FOLLOWUP EMAIL FROM BRENDA!

Lena, YOU ARE A GODSEND! I didn't bother to go to the doctor and simply followed your advice. Anyway, I had been lax in taking my liquid minerals ever day as I made excuses not to take the time to take them but you bet I won't use excuses anymore as that was just too painful... It is so nice to have you to bounce health issues off of ! I have to tell you that three days after starting the silver water inside and out, along with the Primal Defense and more consistent liquid minerals I was pain free and the sores dried up and in 5 days almost totally gone, with no residual pain.  I only missed one-half day of work as I had to go home and start the SW, Minerals and Primal Defense but my boss was sure I would be off work for a week as that was the fastest any employee had returned after having Shingles. Everyone was telling me that you can't get rid of Shingles until it runs its course. Little do they know, huh?

I'm at work and don't have time to go to Your Online Pharmacy to place an order but you have my CC info so would you please send me a gallon of silver water as I'm almost out of my 32 ounce bottle, but do not want to be caught without silver water ever! Also I need another bottle of Primal Defense and Liquid Minerals as mine are almost gone!

I Love you and thank you for being there for me.
Brenda

I never tire of hearing good outcomes from advice given by me!

NUDGING WITHOUT NAGGING

We've all been there. We want to encourage a child to do her homework, or a spouse to complete his project, or a colleague to complain less and act more. How can we encourage without criticizing, berating or pushing too hard?

Here are three techniques that can help you nudge without nagging.

* Show appreciation.

Novelist Arnold Bennett had a publisher who boasted about the extraordinary efficiency of his secretary. One day while visiting the publisher's office, Bennett asked her: "Your boss claims you're extremely efficient. What's your secret?"

"It's not my secret," said the assistant, "it's his." She went on to tell him that her boss always acknowledged and appreciated everything she did, regardless how insignificant. That was why she worked so hard for him. Her boss' appreciation nudged her toward constant improvement.

* If possible, keep it light-hearted.

The careful use of humor can work in any relationship where nudging may be required. One wife used it effectively when she found herself on the verge of nagging her husband to repair the lawn mower. He had promised to fix it, but the grass grew ever taller while he procrastinated.

Then one day he came home and found her seated on the ground snipping grass with sewing scissors, one blade at a time. He watched in amazement and then went into the house. When he returned, he handed her a toothbrush. "Honey," he said, "when you finish cutting the grass would you mind sweeping the sidewalks?" They both laughed. And, more importantly, the mower got fixed.

* Be polite and respectful.

Sometimes it's more about how you say it than what you say. People respond best when they are respected and valued.

Elizabeth Harrison stated, "Those who are lifting the world upward and onward are those who encourage more than criticize." Try these simple techniques next time you want to nudge without nagging.
