Today's question is another of the many I receive that
pertain to itching vaginal discharge, but men have the
same problem and I've yet to receive a question from
guys, as you tend to be too macho to ask a woman such
questions.
These questions are answered
using what I gleaned from 20+ years as a Medical Office
Nurse and Administrator along with my ongoing and past education in
nutritional and alternative treatment modes along with my
many years of friendship with Dr. Wayne Garland, a very knowledgeable
naturopath and herbologist. I am not a doctor and
you should not think of me as one.
My years observing life and
health of many around me and the
contradictions of the traditional medical world's idea
of treating and watching those same schooled methods
that weren't relieving illness and creating far more
than they helped and people weren't told how to get
healthy or prevent illness led me to look for something to change that
premise. In looking I found and continue to find alternatives that
really work when adhered to...
Steve's Motivator this week, "TAKING

QUESTION:
Help Ms Sanchez,
I am a young woman of 23 and single. I think I have a
vaginal infection because I've been having this itching
in that area since on the 12th, i.e. 5 days now and it
is miserable. This morning I've been noticing some white
clumping discharge and slight bloody spots when I wipe,
without an odor? My genital area feels swollen.
Now my question is this:
1. How did I get this infection because I never had
intercourse?
2. What is the name of this infection?
3. How can I be cured and what must I do or take to
be cured? And
4. How do I prevent it from occurring again?
Please I need an urgent response to this because I'm
feeling very uncomfortable.
Thank you very much.
Rhonda.
ANSWER:
This question is asked frequently and
since I have not covered it publicly for more than a
year I feel this a good time, as Summer seems to find
the problem cropping up more often. I answered Rhonda
immediately so she has this info before it was
published?
Rhonda,
To start with it sounds very much like a vaginal yeast
infection, which is very common in women and indicative
that other parts of your body is being over run by yeast
as well.
You do not have to have intercourse to get a vaginal
yeast infection; all you have to do is
kill the natural flora (aka probiotics) in
your intestinal digestive tract. Your body is made up of
bacteria of which there should be a proper balance of
good bacteria to overcome bad bacteria when it invades
your body. When the good bacteria is decreased it gives
yeast a platform to grow in, as yeast isn't easy to kill
therefore overgrows fast when given the chance...
Killing good bacteria in the body is done by one or
more of several means.
1. Most common culprit is too much sugar and fats in
your diet. (Soda's and sugary treats and fast foods are
the major contributor to so many yeast infections
running wild.)
2. Taking any one of several OTC or prescribed
medications such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatories
(aspirin, ibuprofen, tylenol, etc.) which kills the
natural flora as well as deplete your system of it's
minerals and vitamins.
3. Wearing too tight clothing while doing any or all of
the above.
How to combat a yeast infection? It can be simple and
easy. There are several ways but I have found
Ionic
Silver Water to be the fastest... You will need to
put 1 Tablespoon of Silver Water in 1 quart of
warm water and douche - usually once or twice will do
the trick in the vaginal area - But you have to kill the
yeast that spreads to the rest of the body and that will take a couple of
teaspoons of Ionic Silver Water by mouth three times a
day for 2 or 3 weeks, sometimes a month. That usually will kill the
yeast BUT if you don't re-propagate your intestinal
tract with
probiotics - 1 caplet between meals and 2
caplets at bedtime - to kill the overabundance of
yeast your vaginal problem will not be solved?
An alternative should you not have the probiotics
close at hand and you want to begin treatment until you
do; insert into your vaginal area 1 Tablespoon of plain
unsweetened, unflavored yogurt as well as consume 4 to 5
ounces of plain unflavored, unsweetened yogurt for a
couple of weeks, messy and very slow but effective id
done faithfully for several weeks.
For gals who report pain from the problem: To
get immediate relief; douche with 1 Tablespoon white
or cider vinegar in a quart of warm water two or four
times a day. This will help the pain and raw sores
that the yeast creates in your vaginal area... Will not
kill the yeast or re-propagate your probiotics, simply
pain control only...
Again if you do not rebuild the natural flora balance the
yeast overgrowth problem will continue...
If these do not work you should see a Gynecologist for
the problem, but I'm quite sure that won't be necessary,
if you follow the instructions I've outlined...
There are also OTC medications but I do not recommend
them as it doesn't aptly correct the problem and helps
to overload the liver and kidneys, which should be
avoided at all costs as your foods, water and body care
products all contain pesticides, hormones and chemicals
that already is overloading those organs and nobody knows
how much of an overload will lead to serious health
problem... Hence the reason for so much cancer and
chronic illnesses... I prefer to err on the safe side
and not use chemicals in any phase if I can help it...
I hope this answers your question and helps.
Lena
PS: Guys have a similar problem that usually shows
up with a pineal itch, drainage and/or sores on the
penis. Except for the douche, above, these things can treat you
guys as well...

TAKING CONTROL OF STRESS
Have you heard about the man who was shopping with
his baby boy? The obviously distraught and screaming child sat in the
shopping cart.
As the man walked up and down the aisles, he calmly and patiently
repeated, "Don't yell, Bobby. Calm down, Bobby. Don't get excited,
Bobby."
A woman standing next to him turned and said, "You certainly are to be
commended for trying so hard to soothe little Bobby."
The bewildered man looked up and said, "Lady, I'M BOBBY!"
It all gets a little much sometimes. Have you taken inventory of the
stress in your life? Stress can come from work. It can come from family.
It can come from the places we live and the lifestyles we choose.
In a recent survey, 60 percent of respondents said the city in which
they live is noisier now than five years ago. The other 40 percent? They
didn't hear the question.
How much stress do you feel? Though not all stress should be avoided,
too much pressure can cause lasting harm in practically every area of
your life. The solution is to take control.
Robert Reich did just that. As Secretary of Labor in the Clinton
cabinet, Robert B. Reich, in an article published in the Op-Ed sections
of the New York Times and Washington Post, told of his decision to
resign from the stressful job. He said, "I have the best job I've ever
had and probably ever will. No topping it." It was true. He seemed to
love his job. But he added, "I also have the best family I'll ever
have, and I can't get enough of them." And there was the problem --
too much of a good thing. He could not give himself to his family and to
this particular career at the same time.
So Reich said, "I had to choose. I told the boss I'll be leaving, and
explained why." His boss, of course, was the president of the United
States. And the country took notice. Some people were stunned. Here was
a high government official who made a decision to step out of an
important and powerful position in order to spend the more time at home.
He took control.
That is the first step to freeing ourselves from unnecessary stress:
take control. Make the tough decision. It may be a decision for less
money, a smaller home, a new location, a different job, less prestige,
or a simpler lifestyle. But one thing I believe: it will be a decision
you will never regret.
