QUESTION:
Dear Lena
Is there anything that can help with my wife's heel
spurs there are giving her so much pain she can hardly
walk.
Thanking you in advance
Don
ANSWER:
Thank you for the question Don, I know the pain she must
be experiencing...
The most common cause of a heel spur is plantar
fasciitis. Many patients with plantar fasciitis have a
heel spur on the front and/or bottom of their heel. The
common name is "heel spur" because it's easier to
pronounce than "plantar fasciitis" and doctors are able
to point to the spur on an x-ray. The heel spur is
usually a result of an inflamed ligament on the
bottom of the foot that attaches to the heel bone and
became the problem not creating it. Constant
abnormal pulling of this ligament irritates the heel
bone and the body lays down a bone spur as a protective
mechanism.
A small anatomy lesson may be in need for those who do
not understand where or what this is; The plantar fascia
is a thick, broad, inelastic band of fibrous tissue that
runs along the bottom (plantar surface) of the foot. It
is attached to the heel bone (calcaneus) and fans out to
attach to the bottom of the metatarsal bones in the
region of the ball of the foot. Because the normal foot
has an arch, this tight band of tissue (plantar fascia)
is at the base of the arch. In this position, the
plantar fascia acts like a bowstring to maintain the
arch of the foot. The diagnosis with itis, (the second
part of fasciitis) meaning inflammation, where the pain
comes from...
This condition is a constellation of many causes;
overweight, ill fitting shoes, mal-alignment of the
heel, gout, pronation (a complex motion including
outward rotation of the heel and inward rotation of the
ankle), flat feel and rheumatoid arthritis are just some
of the causes of heel pain. I cannot say which is the
cause of your wife's problem but I can give you some
things to do that will help her... The following did
wonders for my sister's heel pain and spur...
First thing on the agenda is to rid the foot of the pain
then deal with the what caused it...
1. A foot soak in a mineral bath (1 Tablespoon
Ionic Liquid Minerals in a basin of warm water) soak
for 15 minutes two or three times a day... This will
make the ligament more pliable and less likely to pull
wrong... And taking minerals internally twice a day,
which strengthens and heals a lot of conditions...
2.
Structural Support, which can alleviate most and
usually all pain of the ligament (A loading dose of 9
capsules first thing, then three capsules morning and
night thereafter for weeks)... Structural will not
correct the problem immediately but will eliminate the
pain Then when paired with
Skeletal
Support Master Formula balancing the skeletal part
of the body, healing occurs and in lots of instances the
spur dissolves after a few weeks (some take months) of
taking these three things... As is usual each person is
different and length of time to success can vary... This
protocol will also stimulate her circulation in the
tendons and ligaments making them work more
accurately... Of course this will depend on the cause of
her fasciitis. If it is from arthritis, gout, or
ligament damage this will most likely eliminate the
problem... Some severe cases have required
Ocean Gold
Shark Liver Oil capsules as well... If it's a
genetic walking problem in the foot or leg she should
see a podiatrist who has good references on fitting foot
supports correctly...
Has she seen a physical therapist for it yet? If not, a
good physical therapist can help with some exercises to
start correcting any pronation or ligament abnormality
problem... If not, you might want to contact my physical
therapist friend Julie Donnelly at
http://tinyurl.com/2jx6w You will find a contact
link there and ask her about a simple exercise to
stretch and keep the ligament supple preventing this
from being an ongoing problem...
I do hope she will get better soon,
Lena

WHEN WORDS STING
A funny story tells of a hostess making
final arrangements for an elaborate reception. "Nora,"
she said to her veteran servant, "for the first
half-hour I want you to stand at the drawing room door
and call the guests' names as they arrive."
Nora's face lit up. "Thank you, ma'am," she replied.
"I've been wanting to do that to some of your friends
for the last twenty years."
Maybe we can relate, but either manners or fear of
losing a job kept us from saying what we felt at the
time. Often better to do as Napoleon Hill suggests: "If
you must slander someone, don't speak it - but write it
- write it in the sand, near the waters edge!"
Criticism is not to be confused with evaluation. We
would do well to have our performance evaluated from
time to time. None of us is beyond improvement. But
hurtful and self-serving criticism, often spoken out of
anger or vindictiveness, creates irreparable damage in a
relationship. From time to time, we each feel its sting.
Phillips Brooks, over a century ago, used to pray for
the grace to both rise above criticisms as well as to
resist firing them back. "Oh, God," he prayed, "give the
strength to live another day. Keep me from losing faith
in people. Keep me sweet and sound, in spite of
occasional ingratitude and meanness. Above all, keep me
from giving little stings, and minding them."
A good antidote when words sting.

FOOD OF THE WEEK
=================
Green and Yellow Diet and Health Food!
Vines are running rampant in many gardens right now
with this vegetable…It has enhanced our meals for weeks now.
CUCUMBERS! My husband and grandchildren think lunch and dinner
without a plate of sliced raw fresh cucumber (aka cuke) is a
crime! If they aren't eating them raw they are digging them out of the
pickle jar that I put up every year and have so many asking for…
My husband grows organic only, in three varieties, the round pimply
yellow lemon cuke, which we find so many have never seen eaten or heard
of... The long huge green slicing cukes and small pimply pickling
cukes.

The cucumber belongs to the same vegetable family as pumpkin, zucchini,
(which happens to look very much alike.) watermelon and other squashes.
Some say cucumbers are a fruit because the seeds in them will grow the
cuke. I'm not saying they are right or wrong...
First cultivated in Asia in ancient times, it was brought to America by
Columbus, and was eventually grown by both Native Americans and
colonists from Florida to Canada. Today cukes grow in a wide variety of
shapes and sizes, from the 1"-long ones sold as gherkins to mammoth
greenhouse varieties that can reach 20" or longer. Can be found in
grocery stores year round! Healthy and nutritionally sound.
The high water content in cukes make them a great diuretic for those of
you looking to lose weight and/or lower blood pressure. They also are
full of fiber making it perfect to keep your intestinal system moving
right along another great weight loss item as well as lowering blood
pressure.
Cukes are said to be great in helping in the treatment of arthritis
since it helps eliminate uric acid. Its liquid is also said to be a
rejuvenator and makes us feel and look youthful. Now who can't handle
that? If you want to try rejuvenating your skin either puree or slice a
cucumber and apply it on your face, let it sit for a half hour or so
then gently rinse off with warm mineral rich water (mineral rinse; 1
teaspoon liquid minerals to a couple quarts of warm filtered/purified
water). Cukes are touted to have the power to relax and alleviate
sunburn pain as well.
Those great Minerals making them so good for you are; Calcium,
Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese
and Selenium. Of course vitamins weren't left out either they include;
C, A, E, K, B-6, B-12, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin and Pantothenic
acid.
Eating cukes:
If your cucumbers are organic and unwaxed, you can eat them unpeeled.
Just wash them thoroughly under running water and Serve them sliced or
diced in a salad or by themselves with splash of lemon juice and salt
and pepper to taste or with a vinaigrette dressing. You can add a few
slices in a sandwich or you can even juice it along with other
vegetables to add those nutrients. Some people like them steamed like
squash but they lose most of their nutrients when cooked. Some people
have a hard time digesting raw cucumbers, why, I don't know?

Great fast food! My husband and grandchildren have
been caught eating them straight off the vine in the garden!
Eat and enjoy this diet and health food!
