QUESTION:
Hi Lena,
Can a person take too much liquid minerals, or have too
much of one or two minerals in their body?
Also, would there be such a thing as a "healing crisis"
where I would feel worse before feeling better?
Thanks, Marie
ANSWER:
Thanks for the questions Marie... I must say that these
questions would require a small book to cover all the
bases so I'm going to try and do a very short mini
version of the most likely answers and hope it helps
answer yours!
Let's start with short mineral facts; Minerals
enable the body to quickly and accurately perform its
activities. Mineral balance is absolutely necessary
for the proper composition of body fluids, the formation
of blood and bone, and the maintenance of healthy nerve
and brain function. The lack of such sets the body up
for all kinds of illness and disease as well as makes it
impossible for your body to absorb and utilize the small
amounts of vitamins in your foods... The right kind of
minerals is very important as well. Most
over-the-counter minerals are made from crushed rock and
soil/dirt. Now we know that our rocks and soil
no longer
contain the minerals that can give us balance so it
doesn't sound like something that can be effect. Also if
a mineral complex contain less than our blood plasma
requirement of 84 total minerals it's not sufficient.
Look for a deep sea based mineral complex to ensure you
have the proper balance...
To answer your questions;
Yes, a person can take too much liquid minerals but
it would be extremely hard to do although not
impossible... This would most likely occur when a
healthy person perceives they need more than the
recommended maximum dose of 2 teaspoons a day
without an existing health problem. Or if the
liquid minerals being consumed contains less than the
balanced 84 minerals and trace minerals the body
requires... Or an unsuspecting illness exists
that can cause a build up?
But yes you can have too much or one or two
minerals in the body... Lead, iron and copper being the
most common ones...
Lets cover lead first: This overload is usually
associated with the environment. This can happen in
areas where heavy smog is created by automobile traffic.
This is getting to be less prevalent in areas where
unleaded gas is used in the autos but far too many still
exist. Lead poisoning is prevalent in areas of older
housing/homes - built before 1955 - that still contains
lead bearing paint and/or interior lead pipes... Also
lead danger is found in areas where lead containing gas
leaks have occurred causing a build up of soil
contamination. Or where old oil/gas refineries causing
lead to be leached into the ground from holding ponds
and reached the water table putting it into wells. This
continues to happen where oil wells are still
functioning in different parts of the world that have
oil refineries as well as areas where occasional leaks
from distribution holding tanks oil/gas exist...
Then there is Iron overload (hemochromatosis);
can be caused by the environment around you, the body's
inability to utilize iron or the body's organs not
functioning in conjunction with one another and
overproducing iron as well as eating a lot of processed
foods that have iron added... Also the medical world is
contributing to this problem with prescribing iron in
diagnosed anemia... Yes, the patients are anemic, but
the iron is collecting in storage instead of going into
hemoglobin. These people are iron-loaded. They need
iron removed despite the anemia. The anemia should be
treated with B vitamins, especially B12, B6 and folic
acid. Many patients with anemia are dying of iron
overload, and some are hastened to their death by their
physicians who give iron. Blood banks seem to believe
that hemoglobin and iron are the same. They have
prepared lists of high iron foods to give out to donors
with low hemoglobin. They invariably tell these
people: "Your iron is low." Life threatening
misinformation since even a small amount of excess
iron can damage heart and brain and other storage sites
in the body and lead to heart attack or stroke. Anemia
does not mean you always need more iron, quite the
contrary, usually means you don't but you do need a
balance of minerals! Many cases of anemia are being
corrected with the simple addition of balanced liquid
minerals?
Then there is copper; Copper overload may occur
because of exposure to unsuspected sources of
environmental copper on a regular basis. Copper water
pipes, for example, have been in widespread use in this
country for the past three decades and they can leach
copper into the water supply if the water is too
acidic. In addition, copper compounds often are
added to municipal drinking water making it important to
have a three phase water purification/filtration system
on your water sources... Then copper is an element of a
spray used on produce to prevent fungus and algae
growth. Another cause is dental fillings -- both the
newer silver amalgams and some gold alloys -- also are
significant sources of copper. They can release slow but
steady levels of copper into the system, as can copper
intrauterine devices. Widespread use of estrogen
medications such as the birth control pill is one of the
main reasons for the prevalence of copper overload
today, according to Rick Malter, Ph.D., a
psychologist from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, who has
been treating copper-related mental and emotional health
problems for 18 years. The "BC pill" is known to
increase copper levels and it has been prescribed for
the past four decades. Women, consequently, have become
increasingly copper-toxic, Malter points out, and
copper-toxic women unknowingly pass copper excess onto
their unborn children. So these factors should be taken
into account when taking minerals supplement and
adjusted accordingly...
If you are taking Wayne Garland's
Life
Transfusion Liquid Minerals even then it would be an
almost impossibility as they are mined from the deep sea
and are the same identical makeup as your blood plasma,
should be if the body is healthy, making it possible for
your body to only utilize what it needs and slough off
any excess...
If you suspect that you're taking too much of a
vitamin or mineral, don't stop completely. Nutrition
experts suggest cutting back to about half of your
current dosage. Your body has adjusted itself to handle
a massive dose, so if you stop altogether, it could
trigger a deficiency and an illness. As a general rule,
it's best to stay up to five times the Recommended
Daily Dose (RDA, USRDA) for minerals and
vitamins in order to consume sufficient amounts to keep
your body at its optimum working order.
If for some reason you have become overloaded with any
one or two minerals there is a healthy removal technique
that works and will bring balance back to your system
quickly and safely without side effects. That removal
treatment is
Chelation IV Therapy...
Second question: would there be such a thing as a
"healing crisis" where I would feel worse before feeling
better?
The answer to that is Yes. Most herbal, mineral,
vitamin, acupuncture, acupressure or chiropractic
manipulations will find most people feeling worse before
feeling better... Two reasons for that are;
1. The body has to detox and rid itself of the
illness producing toxins before it can start to rebuild
and become balanced and this will account for feeling
worse. Some will be flu type symptoms. The most
severely toxic person will even have skin eruptions that
appear on the body as acne type sores on top of feeling
like the flu has overtaken them...
Or;
2. The body has been so malnourished for so long
that when it starts to build up to a good balance you
will feel so very different and not always perceived as
good feelings until the different organs begin to
balance and function together as they should...
Hope this helps clear things up for you.

JUST A DIME
Can one dime make a difference? Here
is a woman who turned a dime into millions of dollars.
Her name was Martha Berry. This clever woman founded the
Berry School in Rome, Georgia. She scraped together
funds from every source possible. One day she approached
Henry Ford, of Ford automobile fame, and asked for a
contribution. Patronizingly, he reached into his pocket
and pulled out a dime.
Rather than be insulted or discouraged by the "gift,"
Miss Berry bought a package of seed peanuts with it. The
seeds were planted and tended, and they eventually
yielded a large crop, which she later sold.
Again she called on Mr. Ford. "Here's the dime you gave
me last year," she said, handing him a coin. Then she
told him of the return she had realized from his token
investment.
Ford was so impressed that, in the years to come, he
gave millions of dollars to the school.
Can one dime make a difference? Yes, if we invest it
well.
How about one hour of your time? Can it make a
difference? Or how about the life of one person? Can a
life like yours or mine really make a difference? The
answer to each of these questions is the same: Yes, if
we invest it well.
Now...how are your investments doing?

A Garden Produces More Than Just Veggies!
As I watched the bees buzz around our garden I got to
thinking about the contribution that will come from their buzzing and
gathering nectar… Honey being the top one along with a few others! A
garden gives off more than just vegetables!
Bees, just like medicine, has their specialty field as you will see when
reading this article.
Honey that has long been known in folk
medicine circles as a "magic elixir" is known to have antioxidant
properties, which we know is necessary to ward off illness and diseases.
After adding 4 tablespoons of buckwheat honey (buckwheat honey comes
from bees that gather their pollen from the buckwheat plant only) to
their daily diet, participants in a study showed an increase in their
levels of antioxidants in their blood. But when it comes to
antioxidants, not all honey is created equal: The darker the honey, the
more antioxidants it has.
Vitamins in honey are said to be A, B1 (Thiamin), B2 (Riboflavin),
Nicotinic acid (niacin), B6 (Pyridoxine), B12 (Cyanocobaltamine, C
(Ascorbic acid), D, E (Tocopherol), H (Biotin), Pantothenic acid and
Folic acid. Minerals in honey are said to be Calcium, Copper, Iodine,
Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc. Honey has
tested out to have antibacterial properties as well as sterilizing of
wounds and sores. Whether it's the make up or the way the different
vitamins and minerals are put together in honey, we don't know but it is
a known medicinal addition.
Honey is known to improve food assimilation and useful for chronic and
infective intestinal problems such as constipation, duodenal ulcers and
liver disturbances. Reports abound with successful treatment of various
gastrointestinal disorders. Honey, when poured into open wounds, bed
sores, ulcers, varicose ulcers and burns, twice a day heals the worst of
the worst. It prevents infections, promotes tissue regeneration, and
reduces scarring best when used in its pure, unprocessed form. If
applied immediately, honey reduces blistering of burns and speeds
regeneration of new tissue. Many case histories are reported of this
happening. Homogenized honey isn't useful for anything but a
sweetener as the healing properties are removed in the
homogenization process.
In the alternatives health communities non-homogenized honey is a
well known remedy for colds and mouth, throat or bronchial
irritations and infections. The benefits, apart from antibacterial
effects, are assumed to relate to the soothing and relaxing effect of
fructose.
Honey, beeswax, and various other bee products have quite a following in
many Asian countries, as well as in Russia and the rest of Eastern
Europe. One of the biggest health claims is that bee venom cures
multiple sclerosis, but I find no historical cases to back up the claim
even though I've read of people using bee stings for that purpose as
well as for arthritis. I don't doubt it though...
Honey is far better to use as a sweetener for diabetics than sugar as
insulin levels are lower when compared to the uptake of equal caloric
values of other foods. My belief is, nature made our body's to react to
natural substances better than man made sugar, and some data exists to
back up that belief.
Then, there's the purity of beeswax candles compared to the paraffin
candles most people burn in their homes. I hate to break it to you
romantic types, but paraffin candles are just a spiffed-up version of
petroleum products with large doses of chemical fragrance. And they
release decidedly unromantic elements, such as soot and smoke, while
burning. Burning paraffin candles has been compared to
breathing in diesel fumes. I don't know about you, but that would kill
the mood for me. But beeswax candles don't have that problem. In
fact, burning beeswax produces negative ions, which are nature's air
purifiers.
Honey can be used as an alternative to sugar in baking, cereals and any
thing you want to add a bit of flavor!
If you find yourself with a cough make your own cough syrup.
Herbal/Honey cough syrup
1 tablespoon licorice root
1 tablespoon marshmallow root
1 tablespoon plantain leaf
1 teaspoon thyme leaf
1 pint purified/filtered water
4 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon anise essential oil (optional)
Prepare a triple-strength tea by simmering the herbs in water for 10
minutes, then steeping for 20 minutes. Strain the tea, then stir in
honey and glycerin while the tea is still warm. Add optional essential
oil. Take 1 tablespoon at a time. Stored in a cool place, this syrup
will keep for 2 weeks. In the refrigerator, it will keep for several
months.
This recipe is suitable for children, but not for
infants, who should not have honey.
6 fresh garlic cloves (minced)
2 cups purified/filtered water
1 tablespoon white vinegar
3/4 cup honey
Bring water and minced garlic to a boil. Turn burner off and let steep
for about 20 minutes.
Put into Vita Mixer and liquefy (no vitamixer - let set until cool, then
strain). Add vinegar and honey mix well and let sit until cool, then
refrigerate.
1 Tablespoon three or four times a day. Much better than OTC cough
preparations!
Wishing you healthy eating!
