I answer all health questions to
the best of my ability using what I gleaned from
20-years as a Medical Office Nurse and Administrator
along with my education in
nutritional and alternative modes. I am not a doctor and
you should not think of me as one.
Just lived many years of life while observing
life and the world
around me...
Q & A is for your information and education only and in
some instances to give you a different perspective on a
particular problem!
My wish for you, in the use of the information gained
here, is that you will apply it in a smart and safe
manner in order to enhance your life and not harm it!
Not to be used in place of your judgment but in
addition to... Even though I daily watch people become
healthy with the information imparted nothing works 100%
of the time for 100% of people...
I have always felt that I had to know all sides to a
problem and then make a decision for myself and I hope
that will be your attitude as well!

QUESTION:
Is it bad for one's health to be scamed on the internet
and the worse thing is you can't do anything about it.
J.P.
ANSWER:
A very interesting question J.P.! I'm not sure if you
want to know about the spammee (person receiving the
spam) or the spammer (person sending out the garbage)?
Spammer's will have to answer for their own selves as to
whether they have a conscience and clutter up the net
ruining it for others... I suspect it doesn't bother
them and therefore will not harm a hair on their head...
That would require guilt or stress, which obviously they
do not have or we wouldn't receive so much of it...
The spammee; will depend on you and your ability to let
go... For me, no it isn't harmful to my health... I deal
with it by ignoring the thousands of spam I receive
daily and knowing its part of being on the Internet. (I'm
talking at least 15,000 and yes that's fifteen thousand
plus daily unsolicited emails...) By ignoring it and
accepting it as fact it does not stress me out,
therefore I know it cannot hurt me. On the other hand
one who lets everything annoy them and think they are
privileged and shouldn't have to put up with it will be
at risk. That person will stress out over it, which is
creating damage to the body... Instead of thanking God
that they have the funds and ability to be on the
Internet and accept the fact that spam will happen,
stress or anger will rule and damage is happening as
they feel? Of course that same negative person will be
at risk driving on the road with all the different types
of drivers or get upset when eating in a restaurant when
a child cries or walking around the mall as they can
only see the noise, ugly and mundane while not
recognizing the beauty of differences. Nor can that same
person accept that we all have a right to our decisions
and choices. God allows us the right to make our
choices, good or bad, and we have to own that knowing we
will suffer the consequences if they aren't good for us.
If we stay out of other people's decisions we will be
less stressed and less apt to be unhealthy... We each
will make the decision as whether that spam will damage
us or not... Letting it go or make it an issue
determines the amount of stress and the damage it will
do to your health!!!
A new study was just released showing how people who
look for problems and look at negatives rather than
positives are more apt to have Alzheimer's or other
dementia's later on. So chill out and accept it as fact
and you won't have to worry about whether spam is
unhealthy or not!
That's my opinion as well as a group of researchers and
I'm sticking with it...

QUESTION #2:
Hi, I have a question, that hopefully you can answer for
me? I am 32 years old, I lost my uterus at 28 due to
fibroid, I still have both ovaries and tubes. My husband
and I are desperate to have a baby. Is uterine
transplant possible, and have you heard of any success
stories? We would greatly appreciate a response.
Thank you so much.
Mrs. Thistle
ANSWER:
I'm so sorry that a hysterectomy was the choice of your
physician since shrinking of fibroids can be done with
natural medicine. I also realize the desire and longing
you must have to bear your own child and I wish I could
tell you that a uterine transplant can be in your future
but at this time there hasn't been even one successful
human uterine transplant. Mice have been successful but
as of now a human one hasn't and isn't really believed
to be possible. One was done, almost successfully, in
2000 but had to be removed 99 days later due to blood
clotting issues and possibly rejection, although the
rejection was not verified as the patient's life was at
risk and they could not take the time to ascertain that
fact. As of now they have even stopped research
possibilities for human uterine transplants, or at least
any that is being written or talked about Since
transplants of any type requires huge amounts of toxic
drugs for a lifetime thereafter I would say any child
that may be born from a transplanted uterus would not be
a healthy one nor could it expect to live a normal life
as it most likely would not have an immune system and
multiple other problems, caused by the drugs given the
transplant recipient...
Another thing to consider; If it were even
possible, which it isn't, it would cost many thousands
of dollars to do the transplant and pay for the ongoing
drugs required, you could probably adopt several
children for the same amount of money... There are so
many children looking to be loved and adopted that, I
would suggest you start adoption procedures and give
some child(ren) love and happiness
I must say I am not a fan of transplantation and would
never choose to have a transplant of any kind. Over the
years I have watched so many transplant patients with
various organ transplants that suffered severely after
the transplant. The immune suppression medications
opened them to every virus, bacteria and fungus they
come in contact with. They are not able to eat so many
things that they could before... Careful to stay away
from people who may be ill, limiting places they can go.
Many hospitalizations due to toxic affects of the drugs
that invariably make them ill. The majority had their
lives are cut short anyway due to the toxic affects of
the anti-rejection drugs on the rest of the body's
organs... I prefer quality of life over quantity.
Now this is my opinion and everyone has theirs and I do
not ask anyone to believe as I do.
Please readers don't send hate letters just because you
disagree, as you cannot change my mind nor I change
yours so don't waste the energy!!!

HOW TO HAVE A LIFE
OF JOY
Do
you know how to have a life of joy?
A businessman on his deathbed called his friend
and said, "Bill, I want you to promise me that
when I die you will have my remains cremated."
"And what," his friend asked, "do you want me to
do with your ashes?" The businessman said, "Just
put them in an envelope and mail them to the
Internal Revenue Service and write on the
envelope, "NOW YOU HAVE EVERYTHING!"
Paying taxes is not usually a joy. But GIVING
can be joyful. We pay the taxes because we have
to. But when we CHOOSE to give time or money,
then giving can add to our overall happiness.
Mother Teresa teaches us an important lesson
about happiness. She was one of those people who
emanated joy. Born in 1910 in Eastern Europe,
she felt called as a teenager to move to
Calcutta, India. Some months later she saw a
sight that completely revolutionized her life.
Shortly after moving to Calcutta she spotted a
homeless, dying woman lying in the gutter, being
eaten by rats. After seeing that, compassion
compelled her to beg an abandoned Hindu temple
from the government and convert it into a crude,
make-shift hospital for the dying. "Nobody
should die alone" she would later say. Mother
Teresa went on to establish homes for the
destitute dying in numerous cities. But in spite
of devoting her life to people in such dire
straits, she radiated joy and happiness.
This incredible woman was once interviewed by
Malcolm Muggeridge from the BBC News. He asked
her an unusual question: "Mother Teresa, the
thing I noticed about you and the hundreds of
sisters who now form your team is that you all
look so happy. Is that a put-on?"
Here was a woman who had none of the things we
like to think of as bringing happiness: a home,
a family, prosperity... Rather, she lived in
near-poverty and spent her time wiping dirt and
various body fluids from half-dead cancer and
leprosy victims... and appeared to be blissfully
happy. "Is that a put-on" she was asked?
She replied, "Oh no, not at all. Nothing makes
you happier than when you really reach out in
mercy to someone who is badly hurt."
She would agree that happiness does not come
from acquiring, but is a by-product of giving:
time, money, love. Do you want a life of joy?
Start with a lifestyle of giving!

FOOD OF THE WEEK
=================
Punica proto-punica,
Granada (Spanish), Grenade (French).

This round reddish fruit is
sitting in markets these day in large quantities and something you
should consider as a health food!
The pomegranate a native from Iran to the Himalayas in
northern India and cultivated and naturalized over the whole
Mediterranean region since ancient times. It is widely cultivated
throughout India and the drier parts of Southeast Asia, Malaya, East
Indies and tropical Africa. The tree was introduced into California by
Spanish settlers in 1769. Now grown for its fruits mainly in the drier
parts of California and Arizona.
Granted, it is a bit messy and can stain clothes mercilessly, but
the unique sweet taste and health benefits are well worth it. Recent
research to identify foods high in antioxidants have brought the
pomegranate into the forefront of the antioxidants with its high levels
of polyphenols, tannins, and anthocyanins -- all thought to be important
parts of our cancer-prevention arsenal. Food seeds of all kinds are rich
in fiber ? including the pomegranate - making for a healthy intestinal
system.
"Prostate, breast, and colon cancer rates are higher in populations
consuming relatively large quantities of meat and lower in populations
whose diet is rich in seed foods." Journal of the American
Medical Association
The pomegranate tree is a neat, rounded shrub or small tree that can
grow to 20 or 30 ft., but more typically to 12 to 16 ft. in height.
Dwarf varieties are also known. The trunk is covered by a red-brown bark
which later becomes gray. Pomegranates are also long-lived. There are
specimens in Europe that are known to be over 200 years of age. The
vigor of a pomegranate declines after about 15 years, however.
The pomegranate fruit is almost a perfect round, 2-1/2 to 5 in. wide
fruit with a crowned base known as a calyx. The tough, leathery skin or
rind is typically yellow underneath and overlaid with light or deep pink
or rich red. The inner fruits are separated by membranous walls and
white, spongy, bitter tissue into compartments packed with sacs filled
with sweetly acid, juicy, red, pink or whitish pulp. In each sac there
is one angular, soft or hard seed.
Pomegranate is a delicious fruit, which has many potential
beneficial compounds. Pomegranate has substances, such as polyphenols,
that have antioxidant, anti-viral, and anti-tumor activity. Rich in the
minerals Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc,
Copper and Selenium along with Vitamins C, B-6, B-12, A, E, total
ascorbic acid Thiamin Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic acid, Folate and
Folic acid making for a very healthy food! Pomegranate may also be
helpful in maintaining healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Researchers from the University of Wisconsin reported that a
pomegranate extract inhibited skin tumors in mice, while the red wine
compound reseveratrol, applied topically, inhibited the expression of a
cancer-causing protein normally caused by exposure to UVB rays.
Pomegranate fruit extract (PFE)
contains several polyphenols and anthocyanidins (pigment that gives
certain fruits their dark red color), which demonstrates a higher
antioxidant activity than that of red wine and green tea, according to
the Wisconsin researchers.
Seed removal tip:
Cut out the blossom end, remove some of the white pith, but do not
break the red pulp around the seeds. Score the skin into quarters. Break
the pomegranate into halves and then halve again following score lines.
Bend back the rind and pull out the seeds.
Uses of the pomegranate;
The juice gives a unique fresh flavor to sauces and marinades for
fish, chicken, and beef. Use the seeds to garnish fruit salad, dessert,
and appetizers. Pomegranate juice is the original ingredient in
Grenadine although contemporary manufacturers may utilize a synthetic.
The seeds and crimson pulp may be added to fruit salad for a touch of
color and flavor.
To extract the juice, separate and crush the edible portion of ripe
pomegranates (do not remove seeds at this point). Place fruit in jelly
cloth or bag and squeeze out the juice, or cut the fruit in quarters and
juice with a juicer. Most juicers will automatically extract the juice
and discard the seeds.
The juice can be frozen in 1/2 pint or 1 pint containers, to make into
punch later on.
Pomegranate Syrup
is absolutely fantastic with pancakes, waffles or French toast... To
make it;
Boil together 3 1/2 cups pomegranate juice, 1 teaspoon lemon juice,
1/3 teaspoon salt and 1/2 bottle liquid pectin. When mixture cannot be
stirred down, add 5 1/2 cups sugar and boil for 5 or 6 minutes.
Enjoy your red food!
