Water & What Should Be In it

Can you imagine that eating with Plastic ware, drinking from Glassware, eating food from cans could be dangerous to your health?

If you eat with or drink from plastic bottles, glasses etc. or eat foods preserved in cans, you WILL TEST POSITIVE for BPA! What does that mean to your health?

Taken from www.hhs.gov site; Bisphenol A, more commonly known as BPA, is a chemical that is made specifically for plastic or resin products and has been used for more than 40 years in the manufacture of many hard plastic food containers such as baby bottles and reusable cups, commercial water bottles and the lining of metal food and beverage cans, including canned liquid infant formula. BPA is used to make resins and strengthen plastics also found in dental sealants and eyeglasses. The U.S. FDA is dragging its feet on banning anything containing BPA, yet Canada and Europe has.

Involuntary sterilization from this disruptor!

Something men should think about; The following was part of an article from (AP News) 10/28/2010 - Chinese factory workers exposed to high levels of the plastics chemical BPA had low sperm counts, according to the first human study to tie it to poor semen quality. The study is the latest to raise health questions about bisphenol-A and comes two weeks after Canada published a final order adding the chemical to its list of toxic substances. BPA in urine was linked with lower-quality semen even in men who didn't work with the chemical, although their average BPA levels were much lower than in the other group. Li said the average level in this group was similar to that detected in U.S. men.

Disrupting the Brain!

Men Beware; because the BPA chemical mimics the effects of estrogen in males and thyroid hormones, it can cause a wide array of developmental problems, brain damage and various cancers. Scientists believe this is so prevalent in water causing the feminizing of water creatures and also responsible for the extreme rise in male and female infertility!

Women beware; In 2006, researchers found that BPA -- at concentrations lower than those already found in pregnant women, fetuses, and adults, and well within the range of our typical human exposure -- causes estrogen receptors to initiate unnaturally rapid responses, changing our basic cellular function. When you add this to the fast food, prepackaged food without nutrients, is it any wonder gals are going through perimenopause in their mid to late twenties now?

Another danger: Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are esters of phthalic acid and are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity). They are used primarily to soften polyvinyl chloride. Bottled water is one of the biggest users of phthalic acid… Phthalates in your nail polish making your nails hard and shiny. Shampoo and conditioners getting your tresses thick and glossy? In animal tests they cause birth defects, disrupt hormone systems and lead to reproductive problems.

Phthalates are used in a large variety of products, from enteric coatings of pharmaceutical pills and some nutritional supplements to viscosity control agents, gelling agents, film formers, stabilizers, dispersants, lubricants, binders, emulsifying agents, and suspending agents. End-applications include adhesives and glues, agricultural adjuvants (added to improve the performance of the pesticides, herbicides, feeding stimulants etc.), building materials, personal-care products, medical devices, detergents and surfactants, packaging, children's toys, modeling clay, waxes, paints, printing inks and coatings, pharmaceuticals, food products, and textiles. Phthalates are also frequently used in soft plastic fishing lures, caulk, paint pigments, and sex toys made of so-called "jelly rubber." Phthalates are used in a variety of household applications such as shower curtains, vinyl upholstery, adhesives, floor tiles, food containers and wrappers, and cleaning materials. Personal-care items containing phthalates include perfume, eye shadow, moisturizer, nail polish, liquid soap, and hair spray. They are also found in modern electronics and medical applications such as catheters and blood transfusion devices.

Phthalates are recognized as toxic substances under environmental law, but companies are free to use unlimited amounts in cosmetics. An environmental release of just 10 pounds of BPA must be reported to environmental authorities under the Superfund law. The cosmetics industry, in contrast, puts hundreds of thousands of pounds of BPA into nail polish each year, because each bottle comes below those limits therefore no requirements for safety testing or reporting to anyone. Doesn’t matter that you will use a lot of each product over your life time and BPA is retained in the body not expelled to make you later!

So it pays to limit products that have these chemicals as your health can be at risk!

No matter how careful you are you most likely will still encounter these dangerous chemicals as the FDA has no intent to ban them at this time!

These are really not new developments just more to back up what has already been found!

Solutions:

1. Use only environmental friendly household products! You can find many household products without Phthalates, if you look online or in your friendly health food store. Or make your own for pennies.
2. Toss your bottled water and get your own purification/filtration system! Click to find inexpensive ones that I use!
3. Toss your plastic ware and make sure you only purchase children’s toys that are Phthalate and BPA-free!
4. Stay away from canned foods! Buy only fresh whole foods!
5. Stay away from prepackaged processed foods, chemical other than Phthalates compromise your body’s organs!

Be smart don't risk it and stay healthy!
