Green Tea Extract Capsules Advanced Formula
Long popular in the Orient as an aid to longevity, the broad spectrum of healthful benefits of green tea has been validated by modern science, with an astounding catalog of curative applications. The polyphenol compounds in green tea provide many of the beneficial effects. They can lower cholesterol and protect against cancer by stopping enzymes that produce cancer-causing substances. A tea substance called EECG (epigallocatechin gallate), has been identified with a formidably high level of free-radical-scavenging, or anti-oxidant activity. EECG is 200 times more powerful as an anti-oxidant than Vitamin E. Research at the American Health Foundation in New York found that “green tea’s protective anti-carcinogens prevent the activation of carcinogens so that free radicals never form”.
Green tea has antibacterial qualities, discovered 5,000 years ago by the Chinese, who used it to purify water. The most abundant compounds in green tea provide a wide range of antimicrobial actions against carcinogenic bacteria, such as streptococcus mutans. Green tea may also reduce the risk of several forms of cancer induced by environmental carcinogens. Particular research has been done in Japan on stomach, skin and lung cancers where people who drink large amounts of strong green tea have a low incidence of these cancers. This Japanese study showed there was little reduction in any of these cancers for those who smoked, even though they drank green tea. |
