I am
not making a decision on discontinuing the newsletter or
not at this time. I can only dwell on losing my father
at this time but will make that decision once I am able
to morn him and get my brain back in condition to think
rationally rather than emotionally.
I am not a doctor or dentist and you should not think of
me as one!! My years observing life and health of the many
people/patients around me and the contradictions of the
traditional medical world's idea of treating -
prescription domino effect - while watching and also was
taught those same
schooled methods that aren't relieving illness but
creating far more health problems than they help is
where my answers are based. Those same medical
professionals aren't telling people how to get healthy
or how to prevent illness, which led me to look for
something to change that premise for myself and those
around me who ask. In looking outside the Westernized medical
profession I found and continue to find alternatives
that really work to create health and longevity - when
adhered to - beyond anything the traditional medical
world can do...

QUESTION
I have a problem that my doctor labeled
as "acid reflux." I researched acid reflux but I don't
quite have all of the symptoms I found. I would like
your opinion? Sometimes I have a pain that seems to be
in the right side of my chest, other time the left and
sometimes it feels as though it could be right around
the sphincter and between my esophagus/diaphragm. I
occasionally feel pain between my shoulder blades. I
have had some minor back muscle problems some time ago
and not sure if this might be related. I feel tired
almost all the time morning to night and wonder if the
two are connected? I have not been able to connect the
feelings I get with any particular food I've eaten; even
water (particularly cold) does evoke these symptoms. I
exercise for four days a week. I do not wish to "pop
their pills" therefore are looking for natural
alternatives, if you think acid reflux is the problem? I
have been researching various nutritional philosophies
and therapies and am curious what your suggestion would
be for alternatives to this problem? Do you agree with
my doctor?

ANSWER:
Thank you for your question Jonathan,
With those symptoms it sounds very much like you have
acid reflux possibly exacerbated by a hiatus hernia...
You do not mention having testing that could confirm a
HH? But everything you describe can absolutely be AR...
Pain anywhere in the upper chest area within two to
three hours of eating or drinking can be a simple case
of acid reflux or hiatus hernia acting up. Acid reflux
isn't simple but can be very painful and draining of
energy.
Taking their little pills can lead to much larger
problems later, so bravo for recognizing that as not a
good thing and I don't know a doctor or pharmacists who
will tell you the truth about their little pills? If
your exercise is a good cardio exercise that is helping
you.
Nexium, Prilosec, Zantac or any antacid has too many
side effects for me, and it kills the natural flora in
your stomach and intestinal system that is needed for a
healthy digestion, which contains 75% to 80% of you
immune system. That fact can make you much more ill
later... Those possible problems created by antacids are
caused from the lack of acid in the stomach, which is
what antacid type medications stop the body from making,
with the drug industry telling you that is the reason
for acid reflux... But acid is necessary in order to
digest foods properly thereby leaving people really
malnourished after taking those meds for several months
or years... Also they create a serious intestinal flora
imbalance and that in itself can cause all kinds of
problems... It's imperative that you replace the natural
flora by taking digestive enzymes and probiotics... You
will need to take daily digestive enzymes and probiotics
for weeks to repair what any antacid kills...
To prevent acid reflux, which I believe you are
experiencing, it is necessary to consume only small
meals several times a day otherwise you could have a
lifelong problem with acid reflux. It isn't only what
you eat but how much and how fast so if you are a fast
eater slow down and chew your food really well. Each
attack creates more scar tissue therefore smaller meals,
well chewed makes those attacks less likely to happen...
The acid burns the throat creating pain that you
describe? Never lay down after eating, for at least a
couple of hours, as laying after consuming foods reflux
can occur... If you balance your body's minerals I think
you will notice a difference in all areas of your body
as well as help minimize damage from stress and the
reflux but also rid you of the fatigue... Stay away from
soda's and other acid type juices between meals...
You will need to avoid dairy products of any kind, as
they are the number one instigator of reflux, you can
switch from dairy to soy or rice products for a healthy
alternative.
By adding balanced minerals, stopping dairy products and
eating small meals five or six times a day could very
well eliminate most if not all of your acid reflux
problem. The fatigue is a two fold causation. You are
not digesting properly therefore your body is becoming
severely malnourished... You must absolutely add daily
digestive enzymes to help digest your foods properly and
will also add another element to preventing reflux.
I and many other alternative health practitioners know
that when our body has a balance of minerals and
vitamins our body's will function more efficiently and
will not have the cravings that lead to overeating,
which sets up a situation for acid reflux also creating
a large number of obese and sick people. I believe as
does my friend Wayne Garland, N.D./herbologist, that to
be balanced you need the whole balanced minerals and
trace minerals every single day. Our country has known

I do
know that more than 80% of health problems disappear
