ASK LENA HEALTH Q & A
EDITION!
====================================
Today's Question is being asked so
often that I think I should cover it and have chosen
Jessica's to answer publicly, as she gave me permission
to do...
There will be no Ask Lena Health Q
& A newsletter next week. Having my grandson and his
fiancee here and will be out 'n about just about every
day. Will return on 8/4...
The answers
to questions submitted to me each week come from my 20+ years as a Medical Office Nurse along
with many years and ongoing education in nutritional and alternative
treatment modes. Add that to
many years of friendship with Dr. Wayne Garland,
a very knowledgeable naturopath and herbologist, who
many years ago, beat his cancer death sentence given by
the traditional medical world, has helped along the
alternatives
path and
hopefully help to give hope to those who need it... Also
receiving a lot of study reports and try to ascertain
if they are good or bad then report them to you, which
has increased my knowledge along the way and I pass them on to you to
use or not...
I am not a doctor or dentist and you should not think of
me as one!!
My years observing life and health of the many
people/patients around me and the contradictions of the
traditional medical world's idea of treating -
prescription domino effect - while watching those same
schooled methods that aren't relieving illness but
creating far more health problems than they help. Those same medical
professionals aren't telling people how to get healthy
or how to prevent illness, which led me to look for
something to change that premise for myself and those
around me. In looking outside the Westernized medical
profession I found and continue to find alternatives
that really work to create health and longevity - when
adhered to - beyond anything the traditional medical
world can do...
Ask Lena Health Questions and Answers is for your
information and education only and in some instances to
give you a different perspective on a particular
problem! My wish for you, in the use of the information
gained here, is that you will apply it in a smart and
safe manner in order to enhance your life and not harm
it! Not to be used in place of your judgment but in
addition to... Even though I daily watch people become
healthy with the information imparted here nothing works
100% of the time for 100% of people...
I have always felt that I had to know all sides to a
problem and then make a decision for myself and I hope
that will be your attitude as well!

QUESTION:
Hi Lena, I am 39 years old and my sex
drive is almost non-existent. I used to be easily
sexually excited but the last couple of years that has
disappeared ands I'm not sure how my husband can stay if
it doesn't change? Do you have any suggestions to
change this?
Jessica
ANSWER:
Jessica, this is a frequently asked
question, so you are not alone. It is sadly becoming
thought of as normal for too many women and men...
Without a health background and you did not mention
taking medications making it possible for me to know for
sure what has happened to you so I can only give you the
most frequent reasons and will try and to hit all
possibilities and you will have to make the
determination if you fit one or more of the possible
causations.
Several reasons for a loss of sex drive but at your age
I can say the most frequent cause is most likely. I
speak of the experiences I have observed and not as a
doctor but as a retired medical office nurse. Any of the
following or a combination of several may be happening,
such as;
1. Depression - This can create a reduction of
the hormonal and Adrenal systems production needed to produce the necessary
testosterone, progesterone and hormones in the body,
creating a lack of sex drive. This happens so frequently
these days since 90% of bodies are lacking in a minerals
balance and this upsets the body's whole organ system
but the brain simply becomes bogged down from the
inability to function properly. Depression comes from
extended depression and most often created from an imbalance of
minerals causing the brain's electrical impulses to
short circuit producing depression! Lots of people find
that by simply supplementing daily with a balanced
minerals supplement depression lessens and in a large
number find that depression totally dissipates. Those
few who it does not find total depression relief usually
do when adding
Mind repairing formula of herbs to complete the job.
2. Perimenopause - occurring in the majority of
women over from 25 these days, sadly this can last for 8
to 12 years before menopause actually happens. The early
onset has been tracked to causes of so many hormones and chemicals in the foods, skin
care, water and air pollution and add nutrient deficient
foods only increases the problem. This condition brings
about a thinning in the vaginal lining making sex
uncomfortable and not so enjoyable, which then sets up a
mental block and leads to lack of desire. Also
perimenopause decreases the
testosterone level and throws the hormone balance off
decreasing or killing the sex drive. Or because it brings about
lethargy and so many mood swings that your body is
totally in shock and unable to react to the sexual
stimuli that formerly worked. Perimenopause is now being corrected naturally by many women
with
Balance Woman 40+ Master Formula and
Ionic Liquid Minerals. These steps prevent hot flashes
and mood swings that comes with later menopause...
(These are the naturals that help my two daughters,
my sister-in-law, my best friend, myself as well as several other women
who asked your same question.)
3. Stress -The life styles now have people living
at such speed that the body cannot keep up and makes for
feeling less than normal creating a stressful situation...
stress is a killer of the body's ability to balance out
and makes for all kinds of problems in the Reproductive
and Adrenal systems, of which loss of
libido is one of the many possible problems in this
stressful world. Dr. Garland
has found a great stress killer in the Master Formula
TOLERANCE STRESSX combined with
IONIC LIQUID BALANCED MINERALS and
MegaNutrient Vitamins have proven to be great
balancers helping prevent stress as well as stopping
Adrenal damaged created by stress. When stress cannot be
avoided Tolerance StressX formula is a must and helps
the body to destroy the free-radicals (illness creators)
produced from stress therefore preventing the onset of
other health problems...
4. Mineral and Vitamin Imbalance - This can be
the whole problem for some and is becoming a common
occurrence in both men and women's loss of sex drive.
The foods we eat simply
do not have
the minerals needed to make it possible for our body
to absorb what little nutrients are in our foods. An imbalance
of minerals creates an out-of-balance vitamin body
thereby creating a severe depressed state of the body's
adrenal system... For early intervention in this
possibility simply taking a
total 84 mineral supplement will create that balance while
helping to detox the body...
5. Lack of Sunshine, Exercise and sufficient sleep
- not getting at least 15 or 20 minutes of sunlight a
day along with a sedentary lifestyle (not getting
enough exercise) and not getting at least seven
hours sleep nightly has proven to throw the adrenal
glands so out of balance the body goes into various
organ failure that will eventually end up in a one or
more illness, which commonly first appears with the loss
of sex drive in both men and women...
6. A combination of all of the above - When your
body is under stress for long periods of time your
nutrient balance is out of kilter and it can bring about
early perimenopause, which loss of libido is one of the
symptoms. When we do not get sufficient exercise and
sunlight stress is felt more by the body, which causes
the adrenal glands to go into failure...
7. Antidepressants - Such as Prozac, Wellbutrin (even
though it is advertised as the one that doesn't depress
the libido their literature says it can and it
frequently does.), Celexa, Paxil, Zoloft, Elavil,
Tofranil, Aventyl, Pamelor and others. These medications
are sometimes given for other purposes so you may
unknowningly be taking a libido killer. These all
suppress the adrenal glands thereby preventing the
production of the necessary hormones and/or
testosterone... These should not be stopped cold turkey
if they have been consumed for several months or years,
but Dr. G can help with that if you wish to get a free
health evaluation...
8. Blood Pressure medications - A large portion
of BP medications kill the sex drive. There are natural
blood pressure alternatives that can bring BP under
control without killing the sex drive.
Dr. Garland's Hypertension Herbal Repair kit
outlines those things.
9. Statin drugs (Cholesterol lowering drugs)
- Also can kill the sex drive. These are killers of the
whole body and should not be taken, as they are just now
releasing the horrible side effects with the most
horrific one being death by heart attack. Since
cholesterol is not the culprit that the drug companies
made it to be (lining their pocket books being
their goal) regardless of all the publicity you hear
these are not necessary for anyone to take with a
cholesterol less than 300!
10. Heart medications - A large portion of
heart medications also kill the sex drive. These will
require a doctors help in changing... This is a whole
other story...
I don't know which area you fit into or if several fit
your profile but I hope this gives you some insight as
well as answers to correcting your dilemma.

Physicians at
the State University of New York reviewed the results of
studies about treating corneal abrasions, and concluded
that the practice of using eye patches not only doesn't
help, it may make things worse.
As reported in the Journal of Family Practice, eye
patches don't improve the rate of healing or relieve
pain. Instead, patches may increase pain, and by
removing binocular vision, they take away depth
perception.

AREN'T THEY ALL OUR
CHILDREN?
There are few things in this life
more difficult to experience than the loss of one's
child. Jim Wallis, in WHO SPEAKS FOR GOD tells about a
sad and terrifying incident that occurred during the
tragic war in Sarajevo not too many years back. A
reporter who was covering the violence in the middle of
the city saw a little girl fatally shot by a sniper.
The reporter threw down his pad and pencil and rushed to
the aid of a man who was now holding the child. He
helped them both into his car and sped off to a
hospital.
"Hurry, my friend," the man urged, "my child is still
alive." A moment or two later he pleaded, "Hurry, my
friend, my child is still breathing." A little later he
said, "Hurry, my friend, my child is still warm."
When they got to the hospital, the young girl was gone.
"This is a terrible task for me," the distraught man
said to the reporter. "I must go tell her father that
his child is dead. He will be heartbroken."
The reporter was amazed. He looked at the grieving man
and said, "I thought she was YOUR child."
The man replied, "No, but aren't they all our children?"
I think that is one of the great questions of our age.
Aren't they all our children? It is a question that
deserves an answer.
Aren't they all our children? Those who live under our
roof and those who reside with another family? Those to
whom we are related as well as those whom we have never
known?
Aren't they all our children? Those on our side of the
border as well as those on the other side? Those of our
nation no more or less than those of another?
Aren't they all our children? Those who worship like us
and those who worship differently? Those who look like
us and those who do not?
Aren't they all our children? The well-educated and the
under-educated? The well-fed and the under-fed? Those
who are secure and those who are at risk?
Aren't they all our children? The highly valued and
highly esteemed as well as the castaways and the lost?
Aren't they all our children? Aren't they all our
responsibility? ALL of them? Ours to nurture? Ours to
protect? Ours to love?
I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that the
survival of our world hinges on the answer to that
question.
To say they are NOT all our children is to condemn the
world to more struggle ? family against family, group
against group, nation against nation.
Aren't they all our children? If we say yes, can we ever
again pit them against each other? "If we have no
peace," said Mother Teresa, "it is because we have
forgotten that we belong to each other."
Aren't they all our children?
There may be no greater question for our generation. And
how we answer that question will determine the shape of
our world for years to come.
