 ASK LENA HEALTH Q & A EDITION!

===========================
=========

Today's question was a very scary one that worried me and still does. A diabetic out of control to her level can be life threatening!

Reminder: Take charge of your health today or it will take charge of you when you least expect it!

Don't forget to pass on the newsletter announcement to anyone you feel will read it.

I am not a doctor or dentist and you should not think of me as one!! My years observing life and health of the many people/patients around me and the contradictions of the traditional medical world's idea of treating - prescription domino effect - while watching and also taught those same schooled methods that aren't relieving illness but creating far more health problems than they help is where my answers are based. Those same conventional medical professionals aren't telling people how to get healthy or how to prevent illness. They can't as they haven't been taught healing, only putting a bandage on symptoms, which led me to look for something to change
that premise for myself and those around me who ask. In looking outside the Westernized medical profession I found and continue to find alternatives that really work to create health and longevity - when adhered to - beyond anything the traditional medical world can do...

Ask Lena Health Questions and Answers is for your information and education only and in some instances to give you a different perspective on a particular problem! My wish for you, in the use of the information gained here, is that you will apply it in a smart and safe manner in order to enhance your life and not harm it! Not to be used in place of your judgment but in  addition to... Even though I daily watch people become healthy with the information imparted here nothing works 100% of the time for 100% of people but it is a fact that when natural herbal/nutritional alternative health modes are used more than 80% can be cured or reverse health issues...

I have always felt that I had to know all sides to a problem and then make a decision for myself and I hope that will be your attitude
as well!

Thank you for your confidence and inquisitiveness!
Lena

QUESTION:

Lena  I have a serious problem. I am taking the highest doses of metformin that I can take, 5 a day, plus 1 glyburide 5mg with them. Still unable to control my blood sugar. I was on slow acting insulin and I started gaining weight, so I went off of it. I am a person that doesn't like to take medication at all. I want a natural alternative if there is one? My sugar is above 400 right now but I don't want to take too many pills. Can you give me some idea as to what I can do?
Sincerely,
Lora

ANSWER:

This question is life threatening and I shot an answer off to Lora immediately on how this number can be life threatening and should be attended to immediately with medication and a doctor?

My message to her was:
Lora you are in severe danger with a blood sugar of 400!!!  You are in danger of a diabetic coma and death so you must take as much insulin or as many pills as needed RIGHT NOW!

There isn't anything more that you can do tonight other than do the insulin or pills to bring it down... AND YOU MUST BRING IT DOWN!!

Yes there is a natural way of treating and beating diabetes, you need to get on a natural herbal diabetic reversal program designed by Dr. Wayne Garland ASAP.  See http://www.antibiotic-alternatives.com/diabetics_typeIIrepair_kit.htm You will find the Type II  program there! Be sure and read Richard's diabetic reversal story for inspiration...

If you do not get your sugar down within the next few hours you must go to emergency and get it lowered... Then we will work at getting you healthy, if you survive these high blood sugars! That high cause kidneys to  shut down at any time and/or your eyes can hemorrhage and you can lose you sight... PLEASE  take care of it NOW!!!

<end of immediate response>

Readers information: [She survived and had lowered her blood sugar to a fasting 216 the following morning, which is still much too high (almost double) for fasting blood sugar but not immediate life threatening. ]

My message today is:

Most conventional diabetic treatments dwell on the blood sugar when blood sugar isn't the problem at all. Yes you have to utilize a diet to help control that but treatment should not dwell in treating that area! Problem is; the pancreas is unable to handle insulin properly and the work has to be done by treating the pancreas, not dwelling on just blood sugar control, as that is happening with most and when taking all those meds and insulin but doesn't work that is saying the problem lies elsewhere and needs treating! Putting insulin into the body only further kills the pancreas instead of treating the problem!

Sadly most people with diabetes Type I or Type II do not wish to put out the energy and work required to become an ex-diabetic? It requires a regimen of minerals, herbs, cleansing diet and walking/exercise in treating diabetes naturally. That along with lifestyle changes that will become easy with time! But healing can only come with commitment, attempting and succeeding? Lora isn't one of those at this time!

On top of that diabetics are told to use artificial sweeteners; aspartame or Splenda (sucralose) and that is the worse thing that a diabetic can do! It not only creates brain issues but also causes severe weight gain, causing the pancreas more stress. Plant based sugars such as Stevia or Agave makes much more sense. Not Truvia or any of those adulterated artificial sweeteners that lead you to believe they are 100% plant when they are nothing but chemicals!

I am a firm believer in natural medicine where possible and I've found it is possible almost 100% of the time when a person is willing to do the work and make the changes needed...

Diabetes does not have to exist nor does life have to be a life of injections or starvation!

Read how one of the worst case diabetics we've had came out a winner and is off medications, got slimmer and no diabetes existing... http://www.antibiotic-alternatives.com/diabetic_story.htm

Here is an alternative for treating Type II diabetes and Lora is starting her own personal one build around this example. http://www.antibiotic-alternatives.com/diabetics_typeIIrepair_kit.htm

For a personal diabetes natural herbal/mineral/diet evaluation and protocol - only if you are serious and can follow instructions and willing to be consistent then - mailto:health@antibiotic-alternatives.com?subject=DiabetesProtocol and Answer the following questions:
1. How long diagnosed as a diabetic? Number of years or days or months?
2. Your current blood sugar readings; fasting then 2 hours after eating and at bedtime?
3. Are your sugars consistent or do they bounce all over the place?
4. Medications that you take, how much and how often?
5. Your food likes and dislikes? Sample of a days food intake, including snacks and drinks?
6. How compliant are you to your medical regimen now?
7. Name any other complicating medical conditions that have arisen from the diabetes or that you had prior to diagnosis?

You will be required to keep weekly and sometimes daily updates with us in order to get the exact treatment regimen for you!

For those reading this that are simply diabetic not taking insulin see a protocol for that by clicking here

Worth a try!

New research – not being talked about so you will know - confirms that statins increase type 2 diabetes risk.

Of course when you're diagnosed with diabetes you can always take Avandia and risk dying from a heart attack with that treatment. It's a Lose, lose either way you go.

There are natural alternatives to statin drugs. For my suggested alternative if cholesterol is over 250 Click Here

LEANING YOUR LADDER AGAINST THE RIGHT BUILDING

Rabbi Harold Kushner tells a wonderful story about a bright young man who was a sophomore Stanford pre-med student. To reward him for having done so well in school, his parents gave him a trip to the Asia for the summer.

While there he met a guru who said to him, "Don't you see how you are poisoning your soul with this success-oriented way of life? Your idea of happiness is to stay up all night studying for an exam so you can get a better grade than your best friend. Your idea of a good marriage is not to find the woman who will make you whole, but to win the girl that everyone else wants.

"That's not how people are supposed to live," the sage admonished. "Give it up; come join us in an atmosphere where we all share and love each other."

The young man had completed four years at a competitive high school to get into Stanford, plus two years of pre-med courses at the university. He was ripe for this sort of approach. He called his parents from Tokyo and told them he would not be coming home. He was dropping out of school to live in an ashram (a spiritual retreat).

Six months later, his parents got this letter from him:

"Dear Mom and Dad,
I know you weren't happy with the decision I made last summer, but I want to tell you how happy it has made me. For the first time in my life, I am at peace. Here there is no competing, no hustling, no trying to get ahead of anyone else. Here we are all equal and we all share. This way of life is so much in harmony with the inner essence of my soul that in only six months I've become the number two disciple in the entire ashram, and I think I can be number one by June!"

You can take the boy out of the rat race, but can you take the rat race out of the boy?

I am concerned about some people's narrow and dangerous ideas about success. Achieving more, getting more, becoming number one. Not that there is anything wrong with healthy achievement. It's just that there is a difference between earning well and living well.

A successful life is not always a high-achieving life. Sometimes it is about accomplishing a worthwhile goal, even a private, personal victory. Sometimes it is about improving one's character. Sometimes success is best defined by living into one's own personal mission, or finding a meaningful purpose to organize one's life around. And sometimes it is about learning how to live in peace, happiness, generosity and love.

Someone put it like this: "I spent my life frantically climbing the ladder of success. When I got to the top I realized it was leaning against the wrong building." Even if she got to the top first, it made no difference. There is no merit in being first to arrive at the wrong place in life.

You CAN BE successful in ways that matter. And your life can be truly meaningful. If you're leaning your ladder against the right building, it doesn't even matter if you make it to the top. Any life spent going after things that count, will count as a life well spent.
