QUESTION:
 
Lena I have a lot of gas and I am either constipated or have very loose stools off and on. Some nights I have such severe abdominal pain that it wakes me.  It is more painful than just gas so could you help me understand what it is? The pain seems to be all over my chest from my crotch to my neck? I just started taking Life Transfusion Minerals for about two weeks thinking that might solve the problem and I have so much more energy and feel better but my abdominal problem has not gotten better. What can I do to relieve this pain and bowel changes?

ANSWER:
 
William, I wish you had mentioned your digestive problem sooner as I could have told you that minerals alone will not work for digestive problems! Yes, they help but not heal the problem that exists there! This is a condition that is making the Tums, Rolaids, Nexium. Prilosec, etc. companies billions of dollars yet does not treat the problem! In fact it is a known fact - published in many studies - that those medications create an addictive need to them!
 
You do not mention taking prescription or over the counter drugs as that can be the basis of a large number of people with digestive problems! I am going to answer you on the assumption you do not take medications but if you do let me know so I can alter my recommendations!
 
Balanced Minerals is only part of the solution for this kind of problem, it will take more. This I can speak to with knowledge as I suffered abdominal pains for years, lots of nights waking me with such pain I wished for death. I was eventually told I had IBS, which is normal with fibromyalgia, that I suffered with for 30 years, and was prescribed Prilosec. Well I refused to take that drug as I knew that would only make it worse and would only find temporary relief but eventually would create more of the same! Those drugs create rebound pain and addict the body for the need to take them forever... I did not want that. This was before I found out that eating a half a can of lie at 18 months of age - I know I should have died but didn't - had decimated my digestive tract and the cause of my life of bad health. Then a few years ago I decided to really look into my digestive problem and discovered the answer. I can say I have been pain free - except when I decide to eat very sweet foods - for the last few years. It took about a year but I healed my digestive tract, as much as I can heal, and since then a lot of people I have told about my success has found relief as well. I know you will be another of those!
 
Why is this happening to you and millions of others?
 
Most people, including you, don't have nearly enough of the good bacteria (probiotics) in your body and this allows bad bacteria (candida/yeast) to overgrow and take over! Your body requires some candida/yeast bacteria but not too much! Balance is the key!
 
When you get a build-up of bad guys in your system, your food is not digested properly then one of two things happen, everything slows down or stops (hard stools or constipation) or very loose stools happen. Either way eventually gas and pain happens and until the good guys are back in balance that rid the body of the overgrowth of candida/yeast that will continue to happen! While the overgrowth exists your digestive tract lining is being damaged and allowing that bad bacteria to go out into your body.
 
Beyond the discomfort and embarrassment, both are very unhealthy for you. With constipation: The longer your food stays in your intestine, the more toxins and bad bacteria can get into your system. So you want to keep things moving! With very loose to diarrhea stools: Your body cannot absorb your nutrients put into it and therefore anemia or worse illness can happen!
 
How did your digestive tract get to this point? There are a dozen reasons, but here are the main culprits: Poor diet. Stress. Hidden toxins in your food, air and water. And especially in prescription drugs or over-the-counter NSAIDS, aspirin, etc. All of them kill friendly bacteria in your digestive tract weakening your immune system and building toward colon cancer or ulcerative colitis!
 
All of the above factors kill off your good guys by the billions and they absolutely must be replaced. Your body does not manufacture these friendly bacteria, as most people do not eat the kinds of foods that can slowly rebuild them. On top of the probiotics needed are digestive enzymes (DE). DE begins the digestive process in the stomach and the same things that do away with the good bacteria also kills the stomach's ability to function properly making intestinal problems happen. Both DE & Probiotics will need to come from supplementing unless you can eat a pint every day of natural, unsweetened, unpasteurized yogurt or at least a cup a day of fermented unpasteurized foods such as  sauerkraut, pickles, etc..
 
The digestive tract starts with the stomach and without proper DE balance your stomach cannot begin the natural process that your intestines need to function properly, assisting in balancing good bacteria and preventing the overpopulation of bad bacteria.
 
Store-bought probiotics have often sat on the store shelves too long and are often vaporized before you purchase them making them useless! It takes specially processed and balanced probiotic, digestive enzyme formula to work faster and better!
 
Taking balanced minerals daily would not give you digestive relief for a very long time, if ever. Balanced minerals are required to process and digest whatever you put into you body and will help slightly! Minerals no longer exist in the amounts needed in the ground so our foods cannot contain them. Sadly, unless you eat all organic, you will not have sufficient amounts to keep you healthy, no matter the amount you eat. Digestive Enzyme Probiotic formula. Now this will need to be taken every morning, lunch and bedtime until the problem subsides then only morning or bedtime will do the trick.

PAYING ATTENTION TO HABITS

There was a fire one night at a convent and several nuns who lived on the fourth floor were trapped. They were praying for divine providence to show them a way out of the fire when one of the sisters screamed, "We need to take off our robes, tie them together, and climb down to safety."

Later as they were recounting the event to reporters, they were asked if they were afraid that the crude rope might not hold up. "Oh, no," they said, "Old habits are hard to break."

Do you know the story of the touchstone? It tells of a fortunate man who was told that, if he should find the ?touchstone,? its magical powers could give him anything he wanted. It could be found, he was informed, among the pebbles of a certain beach. All he need do is pick up a stone ? if it feels warm to the touch, unlike the other pebbles, he has found the magical touchstone.

The man went immediately to the beach and began picking up stones. When he grasped a pebble that felt cold, he threw it into the sea. This practice he continued hour after hour, day after day, week after week. Each pebble felt cold. Each pebble was immediately tossed into the sea.

But then, late one morning, he happened to take hold of a pebble that felt warm, unlike the other stones. The man, whose consciousness had barely registered the difference, tossed it into the sea. He hadn't meant to, but he had formed a habit, and habits can be hard to break.

Most of my habits are more like routines. I habitually arise about the same time every day - too early, it seems. I exercise. I fix oatmeal for breakfast. Most days I listen to the same kinds of music and even read the same kinds of literature. (I hope I don't repeat the same old stories.) My routines include those places I like to visit and the people I like to see. It's all fairly predictable. But what I call routine is more like a series of habits, some of which work well for me and some I should perhaps look at a bit more closely.

In fact, any behavior that I repeat, I reinforce. If I repeat it often enough, it becomes habit. Soon I don't even think about it - old habits are hard to break. Even good ones.

A Spanish proverb says: "Habits are first cobwebs, then cables." The metaphor works well for "bad" habits. They first entice, and then ensnare us like a cobweb. And if we continue in the behavior, the web grows stronger and can be as difficult to break as a steel cable.

But some habits can work in our favor. Such as patterns in the way we live our lives. Or positive attitudes and healthy ways of thinking. Our habitual attitudes and behaviors can either help us or hinder us.

The truth is this: we form our habits, then our habits form us. So we ought to pay attention to the habits we're forming.

Is there a behavior or attitude you would like to make into a habit? Then reinforce it by repeating it at every opportunity. Is there a something you wish to change? Then substitute a different attitude or behavior and repeat the new one every chance you get.

When it comes to habits, practice may not make perfect. But practice will certainly make permanent. Your habits will form you. So form the habits you want and let them mold you into the person you want to be.
