PREPARE TO QUIT SMOKING TODAY!
Congratulations: If you are reading this you have decided it's time or you are trying to decide if you can quit smoking or not, right? PREPARE TO QUIT SMOKING: Before you start to read this put your cigarette out and do not light another one until you have finished reading this preparation guide! -------------------------------------- Put That Cigarette out! Start reading! -------------------------------------- Take two days to prepare and then we start the five days of kicking the habit!!! You first must be sure this is what you want to do
as the journey is rough! FIRST make two lists. And now sit down and add up what you spend on cigarettes for a year. Take the number of packs per week - be honest here - now multiply that figure by 52 or the amount $ you spend in one day multiplied by 365. NOW DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO BUY WITH THAT SAVINGS…. Type or write that goal COPY IT and put it by your bed, in the bathroom or other places you will be tempted to smoke… This will serve to remind you how many $$$ you are wasting on buying the poison (2000+ chemicals/drugs) in your tobacco. YOU ARE A DRUG ADDICT whether you want to believe that or not! It's true!!! Now make the decision to stop smoking or not to STOP SMOKING!!! IF YOUR DECISION IS A TO STOP SMOKING - PRINT OUT THESE INSTRUCTION AND READ THEM SEVERAL TIMES TODAY AND BEFORE GOING TO BED TONIGHT!!!! YOU MUST MAKE A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO STOP SMOKING AND YOU MUST PREPARE FOR IT. I want you to know that - I've been there, done that - I went through a 5 day stop smoking program myself 25 years ago to quit so I know exactly what you are going through and what you will go through. The first thing you have to do is to really decide that you do want to quit, if not, you will fail. The largest part of stopping smoking is mental. It was extremely hard for me to even picture myself never smoking again, as I'm sure you are feeling as well... TODAY, I cannot imagine me ever smoking again! No it did not happen in those five days it happened one day at a time, one minute at a time over a period of time just like you will have to do! You will need to mourn the loss of the one thing that has ruled your life for years!!! Smoking!!! Up until you stop smoking the tobacco rules you and everything you do and who your friends are. OH NO you say! OH YES, YOU ARE TOTALLY RULED BY THEM. **You do not sit anywhere you want in a restaurant
- you sit in the smoking section! If that is not being ruled by the tobacco I don't know what you would call it! Without realizing it you choose your friends according to whether they smoke or not. You are not totally comfortable with non-smokers, right? I used to say that smokers were friendlier people, but I was oh so wrong!!! They are just people who have lost control of their life! It also created an excuse for me to make smoking acceptable. This one habit is the most pronounced habit in your brain. The brain has little pathways for each repetitive thing you do in your life and this has the deepest pathway worn down and hard to get out of, so if you think you can just quit and that's it -- you better think again.!!! The things you have done most up to now, is reach for a cigarette put it in your mouth and light it. Then bend your elbow put cigarette into your mouth and puff, again, again and again thousands of thousands and millions of times. You have worn such a deep path into the brain that it will have to be erased and only time, determination and stopping will erase those repetitions. But you can do it!!!! GETTING PREPARED: Be prepared to feel frustrated, nervous, angry at the world and strange and may even be unable to think clearly for at least 5 days and can be up to 14 days. WARN EVERYBODY AROUND YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE A BEAR FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS AND ASK FOR HIS/HER HELP TO BECOME A NON-SMOKER. BE SURE YOUR SIGNS ARE ALL UP IN STRATEGIC PLACES. This is a very important step. If the withdrawals get too bad or you want to stop them before they start – Withdrawal symptoms can be prevented with two herbal formulas used in Asian countries to stop drug addictions but works great to stop smoking as well! We will touch on those later. You need today to go to your health food store and get a huge bottle of B-Complex vitamins, and Vitamin C, the strongest strength there, in capsule, tablet or liquid form. I'll tell you about those later. There is a true story of a ship load of soldiers going into battle and they were outnumber 7 to 1, every man was sure he was going to die because of it, but the captain was a very smart man. The only thing between his men and defeat was the ship docked on the beach which gave them a way to retreat. So, to his men's dismay he ordered the ship destroyed and left no way out to escape, only forward and fighting. The men went on to win the battle simply because they had no other choice. Was it easy? NO! You have to make this same choice. If you do not tell the whole world you are quitting smoking then you are doomed to lose the battle but if you tell the whole world it destroys your escape and less chance for you to back up!!! YOU CAN WIN THIS!!!!! DESTROY YOUR WAY OF RETREATING BY TELLING EVERYONE YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE QUIT SMOKING! Choose a person you know that doesn't smoke or another person that wants to stop smoking and agree to be buddies in this venture. When the cravings come on call that person and tell them you are dying for a cigarette and you need them to talk you out of it. REMEMBER - cravings only last for 1 ½ to 2 minutes so you can do deep breathing for that long, then go take a shower or soak in the bathtub, drink a glass of water. Choose a chew food for a few days. Maybe celery, nuts, carrots, fruits anything but candy or gum. REMEMBER!!! You are not in charge of your life right now, the cigarettes are and you, like every other smoker in the world, refuse to accept it. You don't go anyplace you will have to give up smoking for more than a few minutes or an hour, right? You will have to change your attitude toward smoking and change into a non-smoker's attitude and that isn't always easy to do! Tell yourself several times a day, "I am a non-smoker." "I choose to not smoke!" When you go into a restaurant ask for the non-smoking section. A few states have smoke free restaurants. Prepare to stay out of bars for at least six to eight weeks. There are studies that have shown that red meats, alcohol and caffeine have properties that love the chemicals in tobacco and will enhance the craving for tobacco! So be prepared to give these things up for a while. I need to tell you that those that have failed, that I know personally, were unable to give up one or more of the following; coffee, Caffeinated sodas or alcohol drinker who loves their red meats. I also know that some of those have beaten the odds! So if you fit that pattern, it does not mean you can't quit smoking, it's just going to be harder! Come on - be smart make the right choice!!! CHOOSE HEALTH and FREEDOM! REALIZE AND KNOW THAT THERE ARE GOING TO BE SIDE EFFECTS TO STOP SMOKING! Some of them are: *Visual disturbances even to the point of not
seeing for a minute or so, In order to make side effects as minimal as possible start taking B complex vitamins now! Take 2 - 500 mg three times a day. Vitamin C 500 mg - take one four times a day. Also Dr. Garland has a Stop Smoking List of Supplements to help repair damage that smoking has done to your body that also will lessen symptoms while heal along with stopping smoking. Extreme symptoms: I have seen a couple of people go blind for a few hours, as the nicotine was taken from their system, don't panic if it happens it's not permanent, the nicotine is built up on the optic nerve and has to slough off of it. Some have lost their voice for a few days, again don't panic and rush to your doctor as he/she will put you on medication and that will compound the problem and prolong withdrawal. This too is nicotine created and tars being cleansed from the body and making the nerves more ill before getting well. Some have had hoarseness hang on for weeks. That's okay too. Your lungs are being cleansed and are red and raw right during the process and will cause coughing, natures way of ridding you of the tar-coated dead tissue expelling it. If you could see your lungs and the damage smoking has done to them. They are coated with a film of tar that is black and sticky; this has to come off and is a normal and necessary happening. Parts of your lungs that do not work due to the coating but will begin to function again and you may feel feverish and strange off and on for weeks. When you smoke a cigarette your capillaries shut down and stops blood flow to your skin and tissues. Your capillaries will start to be cleansed and your skin will begin to change colors as the toxins leave your system and the capillaries begin to flow full time again. Tingling and itching may occur for a few days or weeks. Take a close-up snapshot/picture of your face now, before you start your stop smoking program and then another picture in six months and you will see the difference. BIG BIG DIFFERENCE. Softer, pinker skin with some wrinkles starting to disappear. FACT: 2000 + drugs are in a cigarette so you are a drug addict that must go withdrawal symptoms! There are some things you need to know about nicotine and the other 2000+ drugs in cigarettes. There are certain foods that have certain amino acids that increase the craving for cigarettes. These foods are meats, pickled products, spicy dishes, creamy casseroles, foods heavy with dairy products and caffeine from tea, coffee, colas and alcohol. For the next 14 days you would be smart to stick with fresh, frozen or canned fruits, legumes, nuts and vegetables to decrease the cravings. Take a good multivitamin powder, capsule or chewable, not pills as most pills will not digest. Since your body is going to be in trauma right now the chance of digesting pills are almost nil! So don't waste your money buying pills of any kind as you will probably only receive a very small benefit -if any - from them… DON'T STOP SMOKING YET! JUST SMOKE LESS TODAY. TELL YOURSELF YOU WILL CUT IT IN HALF TODAY OR WHATEVER AMOUNT YOU CHOOSE TO CUT… PREPARATION IS ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS! 1) Find the spot or areas you absolutely never smoke (If they exist) and start to think about being there more… Spending more time where you usually don't smoke is a way of making life easier for the next couple of weeks. 2) Know that - After eating you will get up from the table immediately and do something different. (having a cigarette is usually what you do, right) The best thing is to take a short walk and drink a glass of water before and after the walk. 3) Change where you watch TV, since that is one place you usually smoke habitually. 4) Practice deep breathing exercise. Take in a deep breathe as far as you can through the nose and moving your abdomen with the inhale. Hold it for the count of 5. Exhale through the mouth and push the air out for a count of 5. Do this several times a day to get the oxygen flowing through your body more freely making withdrawal symptoms easier. 5) Choose what you will replace THE HABIT with or not. Such replacements are best such as carrot sticks, celery sticks, fruit or whatever you choose, for a short time. Snacking should not carry over more than two weeks… ADVICE - do not worry about gaining weight at this time!!! You probably will gain some unless you do a lot of power walking, but we will work on taking that off later. Remember that your digestive system has not worked properly since you started smoking and it will take about a year for it to become normal and work the way it should. Just make sure that snacking does not replace smoking permanently! 6) Start to prepare your body to stop smoking by cutting back on or abstaining from caffeine, sodas, meats, spicy foods and alcohol… this is a necessity to guarantee results…. Giving up coffee/caffeine cold turkey can cause withdrawal symptoms such as nervousness, headache, and fatigue. To avoid the unpleasantness Chamomile tea or green tea can help caffeine withdrawal related headaches. Consider using energy boosting teas like green tea or Siberian ginseng, which have health benefits without side effects. By the way, drinking milk can produce a copious amount of phlegm and might be detrimental to some during this period. Replace cows milk with soy or rice milk. 7) Simple exercise to relieving the stress of smoking: THIS SIMPLE, do-it-yourself massage technique, developed by Canyon Ranch Health Resorts in Tucson, Ariz., and Lenox, Mass., works wonders to relieve stress buildup and quitting smoking is definitely a stress builder upper!!! Print these instructions and keep them near you for a reminder! Take three deep breaths. Rotate your shoulders backward three times, and then forward three times. Using your fingertips, massage your temples in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Massage your jaw for 30 seconds, concentrating on the hinges. Slowly drop your chin to your chest five times. Gently move your right ear toward your right shoulder five times. Switch sides and repeat with left ear. (be sure to move your head with your ear) Cross your arms in front of you and reach around to touch your shoulders. With your thumbs and index fingers, knead your trapezius muscle (the one that runs along the top of your back) for 30 seconds. Place your thumbs just under your eyebrows at the bridge of your nose. Press firmly with the flat of your thumb and hold the position for 5 seconds. Move your thumb along your brow line and repeat, working your way out to your temples. Cravings will return more often if you are not busy doing something and retraining the pathways in your brain. IMPORTANT THINGS TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL SMOKER FASTER! 1) You should choose one place that you absolutely never smoke and utilize it until you succeed. 2) After eating get up from the table immediately and do something different, preferably a leisure 10-minute walk. A 10-minute walk after eating has proven to speed up the metabolism and cause weight loss and in this case prevent weight gain! (Having a cigarette is usually what you do, right. So replace it with a healthy habit) 3) Do not watch TV in your usually spot! If you are going to watch TV be sure to change where you usually sit or even change the room in which you usually watch TV. (this will be temporary until you kill the craving habit. ☺ 4) Do your deep breathing at least every hour. Take in a breathe through the nose as far as you can, moving your abdomen with the inhale. Hold it for the count of 5 - Exhale through your mouth and push the air out for a count of 5. This too prevents weight gain! 5) Have your chew food handy. Such as fruit, nuts, carrot sticks, celery sticks, Tic-Tac, whatever (This should not be practices for more than two or three weeks though). #1 do not think about gaining weight!!! You may but we will work on taking that off later. Remember that your digestive system is totally out of whack and it will take about a year for it to become normal and work the way it should. Most smokers are overweight because the digestive system does not work properly with smoking. Feeling withdrawal from meats and carbohydrates? Eat NUTS, but no more than 3 ounces of nuts a day to curb that feeling or you will gain weight! Read article "Nuts To Your Health" at http://www.antibiotic-alternatives.com/nuts_to_your_health.htm 6) Know that your lungs will be or are getting raw, depending on where you are in the quitting process, and you may not feel exactly good. Cough can start the first day away from smoking but usually takes a few days to begin the worst episodic part. Depending on how long it takes for you to heal will tell you how long it will take for you lungs to begin to heal therefore the cough will begin then. 7) Take long hot bathes or Jacuzzi for at least 15 or 20 minutes two or three times daily for 3 - 5 days or whenever the craving for a cigarette hits you. (To further enhance healing add 1/4 cup of Liquid minerals to the bath, which will help your capillaries to begin to heal and start working faster. If you are in the bathtub note the color of the water before you get into it and then again when you get out of the tub! YUCK! Bathing speeds up the detox process. 8) Be sure to drink lots of water along with fruit juices through out the day. If you are a diabetic you will need to check your blood sugars often while doing this and see your doctor for instructions on adjusting medications) The object of these two processes is to speed removing the toxins from your body. (If you are a diabetic Check out Dr. Garland's Natural drug free Diabetes Repair Kit ) 9) When cravings start: Call your buddy and ask him/her to talk you through the craving, do your deep breathing, take a bath or shower, chew on something healthy! When cravings start. ONLY 1-1/2 TO 2 MINUTES YOU CAN MAKE IT! 10) When you do the deep breathing you may develop a horrendous cough or hoarseness…That is normal and okay, you are cleaning your lungs. Do not take anything to stop the cough it's just mother natures' healing process working! 11) Watch what you eat until you feel you have conquered the habit. Stay away from heavy spicy rich foods, alcohol, caffeine, and dairy products. Take your B & C vitamins. If you are not taking the Stop Smoking Formula, Tolerance Stress Formula and Liquid Minerals and you need something for the nervousness add a Valarian Root capsule three times a day for nerves. Remember this isn't going to be easy but these tips will help make it somewhat easier... Use your Buddy as often as needed. SOMETHING TO REMEMBER; If you fail today start fresh tomorrow if you fail tomorrow start day-after-tomorrow and so on .... never give up!
